I did it 🥳

I made a post here a few days ago about how nervous I was to lose my Girl Virginity. Well, I did and it was fuckin awesome. Big shout out to gay sex 10/10 would do again. I've always known I was bisexual but had an internal fear that I was somehow lying to myself about liking women. I know no one has to have sex to "prove" their sexuality but I feel really validated that I finally did. That little voice telling me I was faking it is gone now and I feel way more confident about talking to women 😁

S/o to the crowd at the GR show!

This was my 3rd Will Wood show, 2nd Tapeworms show, and just wanted to say this was my FAVORITE of the 3!!! Crowd energy was so good, everyone was kind and respectful. I had an absolute blast! Human Zoo put on an amazing opening act, too. SELF-iSH is my favorite WWATT album and getting to dance with y'all to those songs was too amazing to put into words.

Also, shout out to the people with the Spamton and Monokuma plushies, that made me giggle so hard. Love y'all!

The news interviewed my doctor

I'm not going to link the actual article because it's tied to where I live, but a big news source just put out an article about the rise in CHS cases. They interview a doctor in it and it just happens to be the exact doctor that treated ME for CHS twice.

Crazy read, the article talks about how dangerous CHS is and how this doctor keeps seeing more and more cases - currently it's 1 out of every 888 ER visits. Just wild that I'm two of those cases that were treated by that exact doctor.

Thankfully, I am 3 months sober now, and will not be visiting him again (at least, not for CHS!)

Terrified of first time with a woman

Hi y'all, I (28F) am going on a date with a gal I've been talking to for a little bit tomorrow night. We're planning on going back to her place after and she's made it very clear she wants to hook up with me.

This would be my first time being with a woman sexually and I'm genuinely so scared lol. For multiple reasons. Firstly, just because I'm 28 and feel like a virgin again, I literally have no idea what I'm doing. Idk if I'm a bottom or a top or a verse or what I would like. Secondly, I have this deep fear that somehow I'm lying to myself about being attracted to women.

Like, I KNOW I'm attracted to women but I'm psyching myself out by thinking "what if you start hooking up and in the middle of it, you realize you don't actually want to have sex with another woman and then everything becomes awful and bad and you hurt her feelings."

I want to do this, this girl is so cute and sweet and I really like her. I know we'll have fun on the date! She knows this will be my first time having any sort of sexual experience with a woman and is totally cool with that, I'm sure even if I chickened out she wouldn't be mad. I'm still just like, REALLY scared. Any words of comfort or advice would be appreciated 😭

Combination Pill vs drospirenone-only

Hi y'all - I (28yo) recently stopped taking the combination pill for a plethora of reasons, including high cholesterol.

Currently, I'm only using the barrier method. I liked the pill because I have very heavy periods (which have returned) and hormone-related acne. My main two side effects from it were the high cholesterol and lowered libido. I haven't had my cholesterol levels checked yet but my libido has definitely returned!

I've been reading about the drospirenone-only pill, like Slynd, and how it doesn't effect cholesterol the way combo pills do. Based on what I've read, it should help with the acne and may or may not change how heavy my periods are.

Looking for people who have switched from the combo pill to the drospirenone-only pill and what results you've had, especially if you suffer from heavy periods and/or acne!

Hormone-related dysphoria? Does that exist?

I (28yo) have never felt gender dysphoria. I've always been a bit of a tomboy (recently I sent my mother a picture of me in an interview outfit and got hit with "why do you always dress like a boy"). But I never really worried about it.

I've been on the combination pill (estradiol-containing) since I was 12yo because of my horrific acne. Recently, I decided to stop it for other medical reasons.

Since then, I've felt *off*. Its been a couple months now and there's been a constant feeling of "something is VERY wrong".

Last night, I was taking a hot bath and I looked down at my chest. I was instantly filled with a feeling of pure *hate*, stronger than anything I've ever felt before, before turning into a sensation of panic.

I have never felt gender dysphoria before, I've never had an issue with having a female body. I keep my (curly) hair at bob-length, I wear a lot of baggy/oversized clothes but I've always chalked that up to personal style.

Is... this a thing anyone has ever heard before? Could taking estrogen before puberty like... suppress dysphoria? I feel confused and lost and like I'm a stranger in my own body. I don't have anyone to tell about this and I'm scared.

Settle a debate for me

I like Justice's live albums more than their studio albums, I listen to WWW way more than Woman and A Cross the Universe more than Cross.

My partner is the opposite - he hardly ever listen to A Cross the Universe because he thinks the crowd noise "ruins it". I kinda like the crowd noise, it adds to the vibe. And WWW is just peak.

What do y'all think?

Post-Forest Depression... from last year

I go to Electric Forest every year and this year just did not hit the same. I think I'm ruined after Justice's set from last year because literally nothing will top it.

Side question, who are your favorite artists besides Justice? Nothing else I listen to hits the same tbh

Edit: thanks for all the recs!!! Havent responded to every comment but i see em and ive been going through y'alls suggestions!

Shoot... I think I need to switch off of BC (pill) but I don't know what I should use instead

So I've (28) always had really heavy periods and probably have undiagnosed PMDD. I started the pill (a few years ago) and it fixed literally ALL of my problems. Light or no periods each month, hormonal acne cleared, PMS symptoms basically non-existent.

But it killed my libido completely, made me functionally asexual. I've been in a healthy relationship for almost 7yrs and my partner has been very understanding about the fact that we weren't having sex as often.

But what I never told him is I really NEVER wanted sex and was just trying to do it when I could get up the motivation for his sake. It sucked for both of us, I'm sure he could tell I wasn't as into it as I used to be and I wasn't having a good time. Sex felt like a chore.

Then a few weeks ago, I had an issue with my pharmacy and they couldn't refill my BC because insurance problems. Ok, whatever, one bad period won't kill me. I stopped taking it.

Holy shit. My libido came back. I forgot what it felt like to actually DESIRE my partner. We had intercourse (with condoms since I was off BC) and it was AMAZING. I nearly cried after because I was just so happy to feel in tune with both him amd my own sexuality again.

But now I'm stuck. The issues I started taking BC for were totally solved but I don't think I can go back. I didn't realize how miserable it was making me until I was off of it again. But a) I want to be protected from getting pregnant besides just condoms and b) I don't want to be depressed for a week every month.

Should I try an IUD or the injection? Would I have the same libido issues on other forms of hormonal BC? I had a hormonal IUD once as a teen but genuinely don't really remember how I felt on it. All I really remember is the fact that I blacked out from the pain of insertion.

Do any of you have any advice? If there's a way to both preserve my libido while still managing my PMS/period symptoms I want to find it!

Posts from people who aren't here are infuriating

I want to give all of my forest fam a big hug and say stay off of social media as much as you can. There is SO much misinformation, speculation, and demonization of us out there right now. People with 0 idea of what actually happened or how we dealt with it are just saying whatever they want for likes and moral points.

You aren't a bad person if you decided to stay and experience the last set, joy and community after a tragedy is healing. Music and dancing and love after trauma isn't something to be ashamed of, its just human. Everyone handled everything the best they could.

I love you all. I hope everyone had a blast and I hope you're all ok.

Back in the ER

I'm so upset. I quit before I had an episode but the withdrawal was SO severe I had to go to the ER anyway. They gave me a med I'd never had before and it gave me akathasia, which I'm still dealing with 24hrs later. Its almost worse than the vomitting. I had to take a whole week off work to recover and I'm scared when I go back on Monday I'll be out of a job.

I hate how many people truly believe "weed can't be addictive" because if its not addictive, why am I puking my guts out after quitting? Why did I have to call out and go to the ER?

Everything just sucks right now. My body feels like ants are in my muscles from the akathasia and I am so anxious I want to cry. Its not fair that 99% of people can handle weed normally and I (and y'all) just can't.

Update: the akathasia finally went away and I was able to eat some solid food today. Doing much better physically, just dealing with the anxiety from withdrawal now.

Day 1... again

Hi y'all, haven't posted in a while. I've been in relapse and felt too ashamed to even lurk on this sub.

This was my 3rd (maybe 4th?) relapse since discovering my CHS. The last two relapses I had, including this one, I was able to stop before I went back into hyperemesis. Definitely was starting to get symptoms, though, just not throwing up.

So now I'm back at square one, again. This time I've made a list of all the reasons I want to stay sober outside of CHS. Here it is if anyone's curious, be warned some of the items on it are lowkey problematic but they help me.

  1. Sober skin is healthy skin. When I'm not smoking, I don't break out. My skin has a healthy glow and a pinker tint. I feel pretty.

  2. Summer is bikini time. Despite the CHS, weed was still giving me munchies and I gained weight that I want to lose.

  3. Dental health/throat. The vomitting was destroying my teeth, I will likely have to have serious work done on them. If I want that, I can't keep smoking or I'll fuck up whatever work I get done. Smoking also gave me tonsil stones that have lead to multiple tonsil infections, all have been awful to go through.

  4. Career. So many jobs still test for THC, if I want to change jobs at some point I need to be able to piss clean.

  5. Pride. Being an addict feels shameful. I don't want to shame anyone struggling because I know how hard it is, but I personally feel shame. I hate it. I hate that I'm addicted to the one drug I was told wasn't addictive, even if that's not true.

  6. Mental health. Weed worsens my anxiety and ADHD symptoms long-term, even if it provides relief in the moment. It fucks with my meds and it lowers my already fucked executive disfunction.

  7. My cats. Cats have a very sensitive respiratory system and vaping inside is probably harming their health. I can't keep doing that to my babies, they deserve better.

Wish me luck on staying sober for good this time!!!

I have always had extremely sensitive nipples, stimulation becomes painful very quickly.

Whenever I have a new sexual partner, I let them know about this up front. "Hey, please don't pinch/bite/flick my nipples, mine are very sensitive and it hurts."

Almost every man I have ever been with has ignored this. In fact, the few times I forgot to mention it, it has been less of an issue. Once I bring it up suddenly these men just can't keep their hands off of them.

Its not fun, its not sexy, it fucking hurts and I hate it. When I say "hey, this isn't a game, that actually hurts really bad" I get responses like "they can't be that sensitive!" "its hot when you're overstimulated" "come on, you like it" "oh, so I just can't touch you at all then."

They just straight up don't believe me or they get mad about it. Like its some sort of sick game, like my "please don't do that" is a secret "if you do this I'll be extra horny."

This isn't a one-time thing, this isn't just one or two guys. Its most men I've been with.

I don't want to be celibate forever. I just want a single man to take me seriously when I say it HURTS and I DON'T LIKE IT. Its gotten to the point that I'm considering getting them pierced because that can reduce sensitivity.

I don't understand why they do this, especially when its a man who's respected every other boundary I've set. I can say "don't do this or that" and usually they'll listen. Its literally just when I say "don't touch my nipples" that they ignore me. WHY???

Edit: I just sat down with my current sexual partner and had a very serious conversation about it. He apologized for disrespecting my boundaries, I told him if it happens again I am gone. I said it wasn't a joke and that it was effecting my mental health and my enjoyment of sex. I told him that it was hard for me to stand up for myself about it because of how shamed I'd been for it in the past, that it makes me feel small and unheard. Thank you for all of your kind words 💕
