When would you say Britney Spears breakdown era began and ended?

It began in 2007 then her smashing the car and shaving her head broke the news, I think that was one of the last pre social media celebrity events

But when did that era end

Did you know anyone who was the stereotypical 2000s mean girl or is it a myth

2000s girls are stereotyped in being hot pink, very slim and hourglass waist, wearing flashy accessories, and overall bossy

But did you know anyone back in the mid 2000s who was that stereotype

So I guess we only have 10 years before these headscarf elders are fully gone?

From what I heard, they disappeared in cities after the wars once the ww2 generation were gone, now they’re mostly common to over 80 in villages.

So I guess once the silent generation is gone there will be no more headscarfs at all since I guess boomers are much more modernized once they’re the new very elderly people

What is the oldest birth year would you say was too old to be part of frozen’s main audience

Frozen was everywhere and all the songs were sung by little kids when I was in 2nd game, despite I didn’t like it but a lot of my girl classmates and younger did. I would say we were older audiences since I was 8. Middle schoolers def did not care about frozen and hated it

Is it just me but I don’t see as much pre internet nostalgia as much content today than I did 10 years ago

In the 2010s, I used to see a lot of adults posting about “what we did before the internet” now I don’t see posts as much anymore and it’s now mostly old internet nostalgia or what we did before social media and smartphones became common

What millennial cohort would you say were those stereotypical mcbling mean girls in hot pink

2000s girls are stereotyped being a bossy mean girl wearing everything hot pink and having flashy accessories. What millennial cohort would you say was part of that stereotype and did you know any back in the mid 2000s who was like that

What year would you say 2000s kids nostalgia began to replace 90s kids nostalgia

2000s kids nostalgia is now the most dominant nostalgia memes, considering 90s kids are now over 35 by now

What year did “only 90s kids will remember” memes disappear?

They used to be hella brutal when I saw those 90s kids video even when I was a kid in the mid 2010s, but today they’re largely gone in mainstream and now it’s 2000s and early 2010s kids memes

I was confused seeing them in like 2015 so I can’t imagine this is how Gen Alpha sees 2000s kids memes today

There’s gonna be a “millennialsbeingfools” when Gen Alpha becomes adults

I can’t wait for the millennials being fools subreddit if Gen Alpha takes over once they’re adults, or unless they’re gonna see Reddit for old people since a majority of their parents generation are the main block

u/SpiritMan112 — 2 days ago

When did “only 90s kids” memes began to fade away?

I remember seeing a ton of those only 90s kids memes on YouTube back in the early to mid 2010s. But today they’re mostly on Facebook or Twitter especially today’s nostalgia kid content is 2000s and early 2010s

On New Year’s Eve 2050, I can’t imagine there’s gonna be a bunch of old people saying how they can’t believe 2000 was 50 years ago

It’s new years 2050, you go on your augmented reality smartphone glasses and see a ton of elderly Gen X and millennials posting how 90s youth made it halfway through the century and they cannot believe that 2050 is now closer to 2000 than 2100

Ranges of modern Korean pop culture popularity

90s - 2011: niche

kpop was largely unknown to the west, only in Korea and some developed Asian countries had kpop scenes. You did have Korean technology like Samsung booming in the mid 2000s to early 2010s. Most of Korean pop culture originated in the late 90s and early 2000s as it was developing as a soft power

2012 - 2017: beginning of boom

Gangnam style was the first major worldwide Korean cultural phenomenon. It helped lead to the rise of Korean pop culture worldwide later that decade. After Gangnam style, it was a bit niche for most of the mid 2010s outside Asia, but there were beginning of awareness like BigBang

2018 - 2020: big explosion

BTS debuting in the American music awards is the biggest push and breakout for kpop to rise. Later with Blackpink leading international music in 2018. Kdramas in the late 2010s also had awareness like Train to Busan in 2016 was the first major kdrama, then parasite was the beginning of the rise

2021: first peak

BTS worldwide tour and Squid Game is the peak of Korean pop culture. I would say it was almost inescapable to not hear about squid game in late 2021 and you had bts meeting Biden in early 2022 before their deployment

2022 - 2024: hiatus and cooldown

Korean culture began to cooldown once bts left for military service. This period didn’t have a lot of Korean influences with lack of soft power

Late 2024 - now: revival and maybe another massive explosion soon?

Apt and squid game season 2 was the beginning of the Korean pop culture revival in very late 2024. Then 2025 had Kpop demon hunters, which I argue is one of the biggest breakthroughs, with Gen Alpha still being obsessed with the characters and songs. Then now bts returning and performing at the World Cup will probably bring another massive resurgence back to Covid levels

Little off topic but I honestly think the kpop group BigBang would’ve been massive in America if they debuted today

Let’s say big bang debuted today, I would think they would be massive in America mostly because kpop is much more mainstream than it was during their peak in the early 2010s, and second their style would appeal to a bigger audiences. They have a good androgynous style and voices which would help Kpop a lot and not be seen as for girls

Would you say Siri was the first major ai breakthrough at least since the Cold War

I think Siri was the first massive ai breakthrough almost every knew because it was viral on YouTube for a few years and people would make parodies of Siri being a killer robot.

Besides video game ai, I don’t think there were forms of ai most people knew since it was largely in universities and labs and not out in the public
