Felt a lil twinge of tokenzation
I’m sorry but I felt bad for Jahmani not only because of how unforgivably rude JJ was to him, knowing he likes her and leading him on while pursuing someone in a literal relationship ship (could be a whole other post). They brought him in for a sports competition, they hype him up as their brother but I felt like he was as excluded from “inclusivity” all around as Krista was for a bit with those two girls (self proclaimed gurls girls, unapparent to any viewer worldwide).
Bringing in one Black guest for one competition segment feels like a diversity checkbox rather than genuine inclusion and it just felt a bit off to me in general just based on on serving his experience there- I obviously can’t speak for him and can be wrong.
Even in marginalized communities this exists and I think it’s worth wondering about. The moral character of the cast, as entertaining as the show could be at times made me wonder if they all have such a high level of self orientation that they actually kinda suck. There’s degrees to that but still idkkkk 😅
