Foundayo first week

Hi there! I just started Foundayo last week. I’m on the lowest dose of .8mg for a month and then I’ll go up. I haven’t noticed much of a difference in the food noise. What should I expect?

Brain Fog

Are there any supplements/medications you can take to combat brain fog? I started lithium a month ago and as I’ve gone up on my dosage I’ve noticed my brain fog/word recall is horrible. I’m only on 600mg and he wants to boost me to 900mg next week and I don’t know if I’ll be able to do my job correctly at this rate.

Does anyone have any tips to combat this? I’m also on zyprexa, so I’m not sure if that’s playing a roll.

I posted about this last week; less about the brain fog and more about weight gain, but I’m just curious if anyone has any hacks!

Crying spells/severe weight gain

Hi! I was recently diagnosed with bipolar 1 and started on lithium and zyprexa about a month ago.

He raised my lithium from 300mg to 300mg twice a day, and while it stopped the mania, I find myself crying and feeling super burnt out. I also gained 15lbs in a month, I literally am so hungry all the time. If I keep gaining weight, I’m nervous I won’t be able to stay on this medicine.

Did anyone else experience crying spells/brain fog/ weight gain on lithium (or zyprexa)?

I’m really struggling. I’m not as impulsive or super charged feeling, but idk if I like feeling this down either.

Decisions while hypomanic

I was diagnosed with BP1 a month ago, but it has been something I’ve been dealing with since my early 20s (I’m now 30). I’ve been misdiagnosed with a lot of things, but I finally have been able to name the beast with the help of my new counselor and psychiatrist.

I have been hypomanic for the past month pretty much and I’m starting to crash. I decided I would go back to full time work after being a SAHM for the past 3 years, but now that I’m not as energized I’m worried it was a horrible idea. I’m a former teacher and just accepted an offer to go back to teaching in the fall.

Idk what to do, I always make all these commitments and quit. It’s like a running joke in my family, but I don’t want to be unreliable. I don’t want to quit everything I start. My husband always tells me my word means nothing because I always act in the moment instead of thinking long term.

How do I stick this out 😩

Racing thoughts

Hey y’all! Sorry for posting so much here, I just have so many questions after being newly diagnosed.

How do you stop your thoughts from racing when manic? I’m currently in a manic state(from what I understand) and don’t have a meeting with my new psych until Monday. I’m currently on a small dose of lithium (150mg) and zyprexa (5mg) but I feel like it’s not going anything.

I’m switching from a telehealth NP to a in person psychiatrist. What should I do in the mean time?

Caffeine

Hi there! I’m newly diagnosed and I’m trying to understand how caffeine affects me.

When you are in a manic episode, how does caffeine affect you? Does it tend to make it worse or not have any impact?

Also, do any of you have a higher heart rate when manic?

Dosage/ Stimulant Changes

Hi there! I was prescribed Concerta back in November after being diagnosed with ADHD as an adult (30yr old female).

It was life changing at first. Things I have struggled with my whole life started to improve and I was so much more emotionally stable! After a while 18mg would make me sleepy about 4 hours after taking it, so we moved up to 27mg and eventually 36mg.

36mg worked well for a while but the crash was really bad and I found myself super snappy with my husband and children around 5pm everyday.

My psych suggested we switch to Vyvanse to see if it lasted longer and started me on 10mg. I was SO irritable and had a horrible headache for a week. She switched me back to 18mg concerta since that worked so well the longest but now I’m having horrible side effects. Loss of concentration, irritability, shakiness if I drink caffeine. Idk what’s happening but I’m feeling like I can’t handle it anymore. I have three small children and can’t afford to be this snappy and irritable. I feel like I can cry at anytime.

Anyone experience this?
