Which exam was hardest for you?

I heard everyone saying how FAR is the most difficult, how many tries it took them to pass, etc., but it honestly wasn't too bad --- I did pass on my first try. Now, AUD turned out to be the beast for me. I had my third take last week, and it could go either way, honestly.

Curious to hear what other people found the most difficult. Always surprised when I hear people say REG since that one seems to have a noticeably higher pass rate than the other core sections.

Where my AUD bros at?

How did you feel about the exam? I got a 69 last time and felt a little better about the SIMs this time, so I am hoping to be blessed with a 4/4 next week.

Does EA + CPA look better than just CPA?

Asking because I am not sure whether to renew my EA, whether it really serves a purpose now that I will become a CPA. And yes, I work in tax.

Took AUD Today (6/30)

I think this may have been my pass. I was well-rested which made it easier to read and comprehend the SIMs. There wasn't a single SIM where I was like wtf is this, so I was able to give educated guesses on things I wasn't absolutely certain on as opposed to random answers, as I had to do last time. Didn't feel too rushed on time either since I had finished the MCQs with 2 hours, 15 mins remaining. I scored 69 last time.

Praying this will give me 4/4

Is CLA doing poorly right now?

Asking because I heard of some layoffs, poor raises, cutting back on bonuses and other employee rewards. I saw recently how some of our interns didn't get full-time offers as well. Just not sure if this is usual or if something is going wrong.

How many Romanians are actively looking to get out of the country?

I've seen diaspora map for different European countries, and Romania is among the highest for those living in a different country. I know this happened a lot more in the past. My parents left in the 80s to the USA and never bothered to even visit. It seems that GDP has been rising in Romania over the past two decades or so, so there is less economic pressure to go abroad, but I'm curious to see what people living in Romania think.

I also just recently acquired a Romanian passport from the local consulate, and so maybe I will be reversing the past trend haha

MCQs primary, SIMs secondary. How true is this?

I feel like MCQs in most study materials are somewhat close to what you see on the actual exam while SIMs are all over the place. You're more likely to waste your time reviewing SIMs than MCQs.

I am seeing "EA, MST" more often for tax people. Why would you get the EA instead of the CPA?

Especially considering that the MST should bring you to 150+ credits, so there is no doubt that you have eligibility for CPA. Are these just failed CPAs? I am not dissing on EA as I am an EA myself. I just find it odd that someone would put in the effort to get the MST but cannot put in a bit more to get the CPA, which is valued more so than EA + MST.

Ashkenazi Jewish: This is likely noise, right?

I heard that 23andme has a hard time distinguishing between Greek/Italian/Jewish, so it often incorrectly categorizes you as one over the other.

Is it possible to bomb AUD sims and still pass?

I retook AUD, and mcqs felt more manageable than my first take. I likely did better there, but the sims felt worse. Things that I had to flat-out guess on because I didn't understand and was running out of time. I was able to finish with one minute to spare. I at least got valid answers for the easier sims but I feel like I may have fully failed 3/7 sims just due to guessing and misinterpretation.

If you score low 70s, how long should you wait until a retake?

I'm asking early because I feel like I probably narrowly failed AUD. Idk if I should spend another month hammering MCQs and SIMs --- I work full-time so it would be maybe 2 hours/day weekdays and & 5 hours/day weekends, totaling 20 hours/week.

Took exam on last day of testing window. NASBA status still "NTS Issued"

Does this mean they have not received my score yet and it will then push me into the following window? In other words, am I screwed?

Just came out of AUD

MCQs were fair. SIMs were a bit confusing -- two of them were on very niche topics that I just wasn't so sure about. One of those involved calculations, which I wasn't really expecting.

Feel like this one could go either way but leanings towards not passing.
