Is everyone pretending to just not be dealing with back pain?

I’ve been in this job 4 years and I’ve been dealing with back pain the whole time. Pretty much anything I do on the ramp makes my back hurt, but especially getting in the bin is the absolute worst for my back so I do try to avoid that position. No one ever seems like they’re in pain, I haven’t asked many people but everyone I’ve asked has said their back feels just fine.

I got pulled over with my old state license plate on my car and they didn’t say anything

I was pulled over at 3:30am for speeding I still have my old license plate on my car because the screws are stripped making it stuck and I haven’t had a chance to get it fixed.

I was having a hard time finding my new state registration and I never gave it to him he just took my insurance and drivers license and then came back and let me off with a warning before I could tell him I found the current registration.

Why aren’t tail stands required on all max 8’s

I work for Southwest and they obviously use the huge tail stands and tell us to leave it on for all of loading and technically until all GSE has been removed from the plane but I just remembered in my previous ramp job I would work on Westjet sometimes they had max 8’s and I never remember throwing a tail stand on them.

Anyone else here a ramp agent at the airport

Tonight is slow no more flights until 5am. Really tired but just glad I’m off tomorrow. Had several doubles this week and only had 1 day off in 2 weeks.

How many bags would you say you touch in an average shift?

I probably average about 150 or maybe 200 bags per shift, occasionally I’ll have a day where I don’t touch more than 20 and I’ve had a few bad days that I probably moved 600 or 700 bags. This is at a hub working mainline and not working gates very often. When I worked in a line station it was easily 500 bags just as an average per day even as a runner.

Is 2100-0300 overnight to you?

For the month of August my job is screwing us all with terrible shift times😂 the earliest shift we could possibly get would start at 1830. No one is too interested in the 2100 shift because they say it’s “overnight”. I wanna do it because a lot of full time people get off around 9pm so we could work doubles with each other and my base days off most likely can either be Friday Saturday or Sunday Monday.

I saw this was posted 2 minutes ago and I was about to comment I’d take it and then someone else’s comment popped up first 😫 these shifts go so fast

Why does southwest want pushback drivers to say the ship number to the pilots

Today I decided not to say the ship number to the pilot I just said “ground flight deck” like I used to at my old ramp job and the pilot said we’re 8830 by the way so I just said copy that 8830

How long did it take until you could fall asleep easily again

I actually had quit weed for 166 days but then I started smoking again a couple months ago. When I quit the last time I had absolutely no problems sleeping. I actually was sleeping even more. In the last 48 hours I’ve barely been able to sleep even when I fall asleep I wake up again and again and I’m still struggling to fall asleep and it’s 4:50am and the sky is getting light already ugh

Why is it so easy to start using this stuff all day everyday

I had quit weed for almost 6 months, 166 days to be exact. The interesting thing about weed is that it doesn’t allow you to feel bad about the fact that you’re using it. I thought I was never going to smoke again and now I’ve slipped right back into doing it morning and night every single day. I’ve just built it right back into my morning routine to smoke before work too. Only reason I’m not bringing it to work is because I’m at a relatively new job since I got fired from the last one for bringing my pen.
