Just bought a 2009 128i at 181k miles what are some priority maintenance item I should take care of first?

Just purchased this 2009 E82 128 for $3k. It seems like it was taken care of for most of its life so far but the last 2 owners who were related drove it for about 30k miles and they did all their own work themselves. DIY is great and plan to do the same but I also know most people half ass most things. I want to make this car last for atleast another 100k. Problem I know of right now are a small Evap leak and airbags/restraint malfunction also some small leak from the oil pan gasket. Any tips for those issues aswell as any suggestions for priority of replacing parts would be helpful. Also should I order a timing chain kit or just check the tension?

Back in a Beemer after 7 years.

Picked up this beautiful high mileage 128i 6spd yesterday. It’s my first manual and it is a lot of fun! Needs a lot of work but that’s bmw life. I used to own an automatic 525i E39 and that’s what started my love for BMW. This is a completely different car in all the right ways.

Help! Looking at a E39 and a E46 this weekend.

I’m looking at 2 different cars this weekend and I’m really struggling to decide also have a X5 5spd in the mix aswell.

E39: Description

“2003 BMW 530i
5 Speed Manual

Garage kept since I’ve owned it. This car runs and shifts extremely smooth—exactly how a BMW should. I’ve owned the vehicle for about 5 years and have completed a lot of maintenance during that time.

Recent maintenance includes:
- Alternator
- Coil packs
- Fuel pump
-A/C fixed
- Tires
- And more

This is a 23-year-old vehicle, so it does have a few minor quirks. The driver’s seat has a slight twist (common issue on these models), and there has been some minor rust repair on the fenders (the frame is beautiful) Overall, it’s a very fun, reliable car and a great daily driver or enthusiast vehicle.

Clean title in hand. I’m open to offers”

E46: description
2000
323ci

MOTOR WAS REBUILT
ARP head studs and main studs
New timing components upper and lower
Oil pump
Piston rings
Main bearings
Rod bearings
New cam bridges and caps
All new lifters
All gaskets
Front and rear main seal
New clutch
All fluids drained and filled
All coolant hoses changed
Metal thermostat housing
Does need vanos replaced which is causing a marble like noise but no performance issues what so ever I have front right hub and tie rod because I thought they were going out when it was just the pads sticking does sag in the rear and needs the rest of the engine bay trim reinstalled but other then that needs no work
I am OBO and open to trades let me know what you got also have a parts motor and a box full of parts that come with

No mileage provided.

Mustang GT 5.0 Premium vs Toyota GR Corolla. I do have kids and I really want an engaging car that’s fairly reliable. Open to other suggestions
