Sizing Advice Needed! How do you handle tricky shoe sizes to avoid returns?
Hey everyone! 👋
Looking for some advice from experienced shoe sellers here on how to handle sizing descriptions to avoid fit issues.
Recently had a situation on Depop with a pair of shoes where the inner tag clearly says EU 41. Since I knew it fit small, I explicitly listed it as EU 41 Women’s. The buyer received them and opened a return claim, insisting the sizing was wrong/too small and claiming I listed the incorrect size.
Even though the tag proved I was in the right, I chose to accept the return just to protect my shop rating and avoid unnecessary drama.
Once the shoes arrive back, I want to re-list them with the clearest listing possible so this doesn’t happen again. For those who sell footwear regularly:
How do you handle EU sizing or shoes that run small?
Do you always include insole measurements? If so, what’s your best method to measure them accurately?
What specific disclaimer or sizing text do you put in your descriptions?
Would love to hear how you guys cover your bases with shoe sizing. Any tips, photo ideas, or advice would be super appreciated! Thanks in advance! 🙏
