This new show was a blast to visit and was called beyond steam, it focuses on modern era railway modelling. Here is a video of the show for anyone who was unable to make it that is interested: https://youtu.be/46z8UcmiqRQ?si=Z239cIINIi2OZobP

Some photos from Beyond Steam, a new model railway exhibition which took place this weekend focusing on modern image modelling

Really nice new show! It’s great to have something that feels so fresh and modern in terms of modelling. If you are interested in seeing the layouts in motion, this video goes over everything that was on display: https://youtu.be/46z8UcmiqRQ?si=epiuVKcjXMnvHV4i

I need a shape to contain an image within a shape in order to reveal it

As the title says, I need a shape to contain an image almost like a frame in InDesign. I have been trying to find a tutorial that explains this, the closest I was able to find was using track matte key on the image and a shape, but this did not work. Am I missing something really obvious? If any help can be provided I would greatly appreciate it

Help choosing magnets to attach a face to my miniature train?

Bit of a silly post! Looking for som advice. I have a 5” gauge miniature train and the front frames body of it is made of metal.

I want to attach a 3D printed Thomas the tank style faces to the front of my locomotive. The front of the train is painted metal. The face is a bit heavy and the train bounces around a little bit track, so the magnets need to be strong enough to keep it from falling off while moving. However, I still want to be able to easily pull the face off by hand to swap expressions if possible.

Since the metal on the train is painted, what specific type, size, or pull strength of magnets should I look for to handle the movement without scratching the paint?

I’ve attached photos of the front of the train the face and the back of the face. Any specific links or sizes to look for would be amazing. Thank you!

Avoid the "Sir Benfro" Facebook page as it's pure AI slop

I just wanted to give a heads up about this Facebook page called "Sir Benfro - News, events & observations about Pembrokeshire & West Wales” Whoever is running it is doing a terrible job. Acting like they speak for this county when they can’t even string a sentence together without the help of a computer.

The entire page is nothing but AI slop. Everything is clearly written by ai and even the illustrations are ai generated.

Worst of all because it’s just automated rubbish, almost all the information it posts is completely wrong and incorrect.

If you're looking for actual news or events in Pembrokeshire and West Wales avoid this page. It’s useless.

I am looking for someone to recreate this design in a vector format such as an AI or SVG file. I need the blueprint style artwork and the glowing interface elements to be clean and sharp so I can use them for a large poster. The linework for the ships needs to be precise. If you cannot do an exact 1 to 1 copy I am happy with something very similar in style as long as it keeps the technical schematic look. Please ensure the final file is a true vector and not just a high resolution image.
