Is there still a certain thing with a log book on knifes edge?

this was back in 2015. However there was a certain spot on Knifes Edge that we had someone tell us about at a hostel. zero chance to find it otherwise.

if you dropped down and pulled a few rocks away, there was a little cavity with a fun thing and a log book inside.

anybody know if this still exist? just popped into my head today and was curious.

apologies for intentionally being vague, not trying to blow up somebody‘s tradition.

Was there ever any studio discussion or real traction on a theatrical run for VOY & DS9 akin to TNG & TOS?

I’ve read tons of fan theories over the years at what would have made good movies, but was curious if anyone knew if anything ever got even close to getting off the ground.

Quick Theory: Imu has Sapphire Scale Disease. (Well the original form of it)

To be clear: I don’t think Imu is specifically sick with sapphire scale. Just that sapphire scale is somehow related to his affliction.

I was thinking about the “countdown” Imu seems to be on when It comes to being outside the castle. It seems to me the closest narrative we have for this sort of thing is sapphire scales.

- Imu is constantly covered head to toe, with only his eyes showing, hiding away as much of his skin as possible, almost as if he was going to the beach and was REALLY worried about a sunburn.

- Imu seems obsessed with the flower room, an indoor room that seems to replicate the outdoors. I wouldn’t be surprised to find out those squares on the ceiling are electrical lights.

- Why would Saturn try to create such a thing as sapphire scales? A bio weapon? I feel like it’s already within his skillset. Perhaps he was trying to replicate the great ones curse or disease first. So he could cure it with science.

- We have the narrative example of how awful being trapped in one place while the world continues on around you explored first through the innocence and tragedy of a child. A good way to set up a lense for us to view a villain with a degree of tragedy and understanding.

The Planet has Been Domi Reversed. That’s why the maps line up but the poles don’t. The calm belt is where the redline is supposed to be.

I’m just throwing stuff out that popped into my head when I saw an image of Jaya and SkyPIA put together. I think the whole planet is inside out to a degree.

I'm sure this is one of those very old theories though. I’d be shocked to find I hadn’t read it somewhere before.

We know Domi Reversi can be undone by killing the opponent outright. Like the giants. I wonder if this is why we have two conflicting myths for Nika., in order to flip the world back Nika has to destroy the world. Which also will free the world at the same time.

Is there a way to filter out AI music?

I have less than zero interest in listening to an AI song.

I’m so sick of getting random AI songs put into my create station lists. I didn’t ask for it, and I don’t want it.

how do I filter these out? I looked but I can’t seem to find an option

What do you think George and Gracie said to the probe?

in case you haven’t seen the best Star Trek movie, a probe shows up to earth, wants to talk to humpback whales.

They chat for like five minutes then the probe leaves and goes back about its day.

What on earth did that probe need to hear from a whale that badly.

Looking for recommendations on local Electronics Repair, specifically audio equipment.

I have a not very high quality, but sentimental, Fisher Audio Amp stack thing that was my late father’s. I think it’s a TAD900 something or another, has an amp, disc changer, cassette player all in one sort of deal.

it turns on and sort of works, but has some issues at different volumes? like only both speakers output at certain volumes, and the disc changer doesn’t work. I’d like to get it repaired but google searching is not turning up a lot of local businesses.

has anyone had this sort of work done before and have any recommendations?

LPT: Take a picture of the receipt when you buy your luggage. It’s one of the few receipts you might need 5+ years later.

Most airlines require you to provide proof of purchase to compensate you if they damage your bag.

To clarify I mean the suitcase itself. Not the contents inside. United somehow cracked my hard shell in half down the middle recently, and they did compensate me.

I have a furniture and a very strong CAD / CAM background. I have not had a lot of built in cabinetry experience.

I’m currently building and installing my first big built in, master closet at my house, 12 sheets of ply down and I’ve got everything put together, finished and installed.

I now need to sit down and crank out drawers… 24 of them in total. All will be undermount with a face attached after I’ve installed them to the cabinet. Im using 1/2“ Baltic Birch 4B For the drawers.

Now I can cut a nice dovetail, set up a finger joint jig, desktop cnc etc. But it’s for my house and honestly I’m starting to get ready to have this project done and in the bag.

Would I regret just going with some glue and a few pocket holes to save myself a ton of joinery cuts? I tend to overbuild my drawers to err on the side of caution.

convince me to be not to be lazy … or convince me to be lazy as possible!

PS. Hell of alot of respect to yall cabinet builders and installers, I knew it would be a ton of work and learning to get this project done. ill just say I understand the pricing quotes I see posted here a lot more now.

What I’m referring to in the following is two semi trucks passing each other very slowly, often only 1-2 mph faster. Specifically on a two lane highway.

I’m not sure if this even has a technical term. My German friend called it elephant racing once and it stuck with me.

I want to clarify this is NOT an emergency or Hazerdous abnormal situation. I’m aware police will ask semis to bunch up to slow traffic if there is a major hazard ahead.

This practice causes significant traffic, as well creates a situation where people are significantly more likely to attempt a dangerous maneuver to pass them.

I can’t for the life of me think of a reason why this should ever be happening on a roadway. I am aware that this practice is largely due to speed limiters in these vehicles.

What should happen is the semi being passed should take 20 seconds to slow down and let the guy wanting to go faster in so he can clear the left lane for faster moving traffic.

While this is illegal in many places in the US it is not enforced (which imo might as be the same as legalizing it from a practical perspective). It should be enforced with penalties for both drivers in the situation.

So where has my thinking gone wrong here?

The one argument that will not be able to change my mind is fuel costs when it comes to accelerating up to speed. That’s a business expense and part of the industry.

one argument that would change my view is convincing me that it is safer for trucks to impede traffic to pass each other in this manner.

apologies for the clickbait title but I couldn’t resist.
