I'm Mad

Tried on the Peyton Twill hooded jacket, thinking I'd hate the crop. But it's so tea and I feel like an idiot.

So yeah don't let the crop discourage you. Although i have a short torso...and no it doesn't pass the arm raise test😭

Do yall think they'll still be available around September? My suitcase is already full I can't buy anything else rn😭

Late Move In?

Note: This is not regarding the ACTUAL late arrival groups

I was wondering what happens if I miss my appointment time for move in? I move in on the 4th.

I'm traveling back to campus with a friend and the only available times she had when she chose a reservation were late afternoon and evening, I checked mine and I only had morning.

Mine is 10:30 and hers is 3:30. I called residential services to ask if I could pick up my keys at a later time (by the office) because we are so far apart. Long story short the guy on the phone said no, I have to pick it up during my window.

So do I actually have to???

My other option was doing a late move in (after 7). But i wanted to do it earlier because my other friend is taking me to the storage place to get my other stuff. 2 of my roomies moved in early, so I will have access to my dorm, just no key. And I'm only carrying 2 suitcases and 2 bags with me before then.😭

Transfer Chances (Be honest)

I applied to UF as a freshman and got rejected. I had great grades, leadership roles, good ecs, international/regional achievements, but I'm from the Caribbean, so none of that really matters.

My SAT score was shit. I took an unintentional gap year and I was really struggling with a lot outside of that, took it twice and improved but it wasn't enough so I understand why I was rejected.

But I got into UMASS Amherst Honors, I've maintained a 4.0 and all A's both semesters and I'm looking to transfer into UF next year spring.

I've done nothing exceptional in my freshman year, just grades and volunteer. This semester I'll be TA'ing for an intro psych course, I'm also involved in the National Black Law Students Association, and I'm looking to be involved in either student government or residential life services.

I don’t have 60 credits for transfer, but at the end of this semester I will have 63. I don't know if I can apply wit 60 credits expected before spring or I need the 60 now. I'm also open to transferring in junior year but I did plan to only do 3 years of undergrad. Also, I finish all my gen Ed's this semester.

My chance in UF Honors may be slim as well. So I need opinions on what to do during this semester and/or next (given I transfer junior year) to boost my chances or if I should just stay where I am.

And the program I want to get into is Psychology BS; I have an interest in Forensics and/or Criminology and my school has a certificate for it that I have started but won't finish before next semester.

Anything is appreciated!

Note: If it matters UF has the PHD program I intend to apply to after undergrad.

Significant Aid Reduction/Tuition Increase?

Okay. So my bill was 36k last year, my primary parent was still in my home country at the time but has legal status here. She didn't pay taxes and reported her income.

This year, nothing has changed except that she lost her job which I need to report. So she did not file taxes, she isnnot required to, and she made 40k USD equivalent in last FAFSA period (it was the same FAFSA as before).

Today I get my bill and it's a wopping 48k?!?!?

And remember, nothing has changed. However, my chancellor wasn't maxed out to 18k which I'm not understanding why? Additionally, I got aid for being OOS and I was told during admissions that I need to maintain OOS for the scholarship to apply.

So yes, I am so confused on what the hell changed for them to up my bill by 12k?!?! And yes, I have the lowest SEI index🫩

Please help because this appeal letter is gonna be so sad😭😭😭

Snoring Rumbles

I hate snoring but this type has to be the worst. Because why am I feeling your snore vibrate/rumble through my damn headphones as well. And not to mention I'm quite annoyed with people who snore 24/7 telling you to just 'go to sleep'. But if I tell you to just 'stop snoring' do you see how stupid this sounds????

I got tinnitus from trying to block out snoring so I will always be upset at people who act this way. They make no effort to conceal their noises and then have the audacity to tell you to 'just sleep'. I wish I could.

And I REALLY hate going down for a nap and then they decide to follow despite having enough sleep. And of course snoring is not widely regarded as something worth getting your health checked for, so you literally have to deal with this until you get out.

I'm tired💔💔💔

AcademicsWork

Can someone please tell me how to utilize this scholarship website properly? I filled out everything and it seems as if I never qualify for anything. I know most deadlines have passed but it would be useful for the future.

New Here - Why are the crossings like that?

Why can vehicles turning from yours and the opposite side turn when your cross walk light is on? This is the first time I've ever encountered this, is this normal? 😭

My cross walk line was on and vehicles were literally rushing to turn and so we didn't cross. My mom was already crossing and a vehicle decided to increase speed (for whatever reason), which resulted in her having to turn back around and go back to the sidewalk.

How do you even navigate this level of impatience??!?!

20F looking for FEMALE long term friends!

Hi, you can call me Star! I'm 20F and I'm looking for long term friends who are interested in chatting and possibly calling!! For the record I'm in EST.

A little about me but more details when we get to know each other more.

- I love zombie lore. I love TWD, TLOU, All of Us are Dead, and I've probably exhausted all zombie shows and movies.

- I love music. Hip-hop, reggae, pop, rnb + more! I love sharing music tastes and hosting Spotify sessions.

- I love cooking but I don't get to do it often; trying to get into baking soon!

- My favorite animated shows are Arcane and Castlevania; quite literally OBSESSED.

- I LOVE ROBLOX

So please be around my age, and again, a WOMAN. I'm not interested in male friends right now. Dm me with a little about yourself if you think we'd be a good match!

How are college students expected to find a job?

I've been job hunting for over a month now, and no one seems to be hiring seasonal workers. Some companies say they are, then I apply and call in and all of a sudden they're not hiring. SO WHY IS IT ON YOUR WEBSITE?

Please don't say "don't let them know you're a college student" but they literally ask about the gaps on your resume and ask if you plan to go back to college. And honestly, everytime I'm asked about that, I get annoyed. Do you not expect us to go back to school? Did you drop out for an entry level retail or café job? Would you let your child do that? Please be serious.

Yes, I tried summer camps, I tried remote jobs, I search and apply everyday and I am 100% frustrated because it's literally impossible to secure a summer job. Impossible.

I don't know what to do.

Help.

Psych 240 SONA Extra Credit

If you're in Adrian Staub's 240, please say if he added the extra 4% to your grade. He graded mine and didn't add it to my overall grade, and some of my classmates said the same.
