Hallet Cove, South Australia
Hallett Cove, Adelaide - lots of birds out this week. You can look down on birds hovering over gullies from the cliff, go into the bush gullies or along the sea cliffs and see so many different birds. It's an amazing area.
Black-shouldered Kite hovering
Nankeen Kestrel hovering below the beach cliffs. The Kestrels and Kite were hovering in the same area doing strafing patterns but they didn't seem to bother each other. Magpies were constantly harassing the Kite though.
Red Wattlebird
Little Raven (I'm never quite sure with Ravens but Google thinks that Hallett Cove is resident to Little Ravens so I'm going with that)
New Holland Honeyeater
White-plumed Honeyeater
Singing Honeyeater
A small flock of Adelaide Rosellas maybe 10 (I got a bad photo of one as a storm rolled in)
Some photos of Hallett Cove area.
there were also feral pigeons everywhere, invasive starlings, blackbirds, magpies and a Grey Currawong harassing the ravens.
Hallett Cove Conservation Reserve, Adelaide
In the upper section of the reserve there is a row of trees that's like Wattlebird alley. They're everywhere but fast movers so it was luck to get one standing still on the rail.
I'm also thinking Mullet Duck might be appropriate too.
Adelaide.
