Social group looking for new members!

*Please note: if you responded to a prior posting and did not receive a response or an invite, please respect that decision. We are not solely a meetup group like Make Friends After College which has an open invitation for all - we like to get a feel for if someone will be a good fit and add to the group - the posting is not an open invite for all. We currently have 90ish members. And if you're not a good fit, we encourage you to start a new group! The need is great and it's been such a positive experience for us.*

Are you between the ages of 25-45 (wiggle room granted!) and looking for some new buddies and adventures?

Have you been dying to try some new restaurants, hobbies, or looking to branch out and meet new people?

If so, you may be a good fit for our WhatsApp group! (NOTE: if you do not want to share your phone number - understandable - create a google voice number from your Gmail account and change your WhatsApp number to it.) Please add your name and some sort of photo of yourself as well so everyone knows who you are!

We’ve built a community of friends that enjoy spending time together, sharing recipes, discussing sports or reality tv, and just chatting.

We have groups for sports chat, reality tv, cooking and foodies, film tv, general talk, book club, music, pets, hobbies and more, and regularly expanding.

We’ve done an array of meetups and events including:

\-Axe throwing

\-Movie nights

\-Restaurant meetups

\-Celtics games

\-Concerts

\-Breweries

\-Trivia nights

\-Karaoke

\-Salsa/Batchata classes

\-Pool, darts, and bowling

\-Mani/pedi day

\-Paint nights

\-Museum outings

\-VOLO teams (kickball, pickleball)

Once a week we usually have a "radio show" where anyone can join and just hang out/talk for a bit using the apps' Voice Chat feature.

Rules are simple: post an event. People can sign up if they wish. We usually recommend posting a poll in our Meet Ups subgroup so you can get a sense for both interest and availability.

Please note that this is a friendly community. We are an inclusive and diverse group and wish to continue down the path as we expand to welcome more people.

If you’re MAGA/conservative, an incel, a bot, judgmental and/or negative/abusive, this group is not for you. Again, if you disagree, we encourage you to start your own group after reading about the paradox of tolerance (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paradox\_of\_tolerance?wprov=sfti1).

If interested, please PM me your

  1. Name.

  2. Your age.

  3. A little bit about yourself, including whereabouts you are located (city, north/south shore, metro west, etc.).

  4. Why you want to join a group like this.

(Please do not message me and tell me to move the group to a different platform. There's a great need for groups like this, I encourage you to, instead, start your own on your preferred platform 🙏).

[MA] How to handle an illegal question during a job interview?

EDIT: there is no overlap in schedules. I think I misunderstand what overemployed means. I would not be clocked into both jobs at the same time ever.****

Hi all

I had an interview at a large company. Recruiter reached out to me. During the interview she asked what my current salary was. This is illegal in my state. Obviously there's not much I can do about it - and I'm a civil servant so my salary is posted online so lying is out. But how should I handle this question moving forward?

Background: it was fully remote with full flex schedule (they're desperate). I was going to go for an overemployed type of situation. But my current salary is significantly higher than what they would have offered. So, I told her my salary then she asked salary expectations. It would be dumb for me to say "yes I'll take 50k less to work for you." But as a second income, I would do so gladly.

Any advice appreciated.
