Watching Lucifer for the first time and I have a couple questions (no spoilers for anything after s4 ep5)

Why is S3 so long and then S4 so short?

Why does the end of S3 ignore what happened in ep24?

It feels like the last 2 episodes of S3 ignore what happened in ep24 with Pierce and Chloe seeing Lucifer’s true face, it also seems like ep24 should’ve been the finale

Why did Pierce want his mark back?

I never really understood that bc he spent eternity trying to get rid of it but when it’s gone he wants it back, I understood that realised he could grow old and have a life after it was gone, but why did he try to kill Amanediel to get it back

Making Sandra a main character is one of the best things the show ever did

In s1 and I think a bit in s2 too she was just a background worker who had slightly more lines than the others, her only thing was her photographic memory

But she is one of the best characters in the show and 100% a fan favourite, perhaps the best decision the writers made

In your opinion what’s the best mostly social commentary episode?

Sorry if I forget some but off the top of my head they are:

S2 Ep5: Chickens - The corruption, cruelty immorality of the meat industry

S2 Ep7: Hank After Dark - Sexual assault, media controversy, public refusal to believe a popular celebrity could do something bad

S3 Ep6: Brrap Brrap Pew Pew - The stigma surrounding abortion and glamorisation in media (abortion on live tv)

S4 Ep5: Thoughts and Prayers - The gun crisis, the performative level of caring from the entertainment industry and sexism

S5 Ep4: BoJack the Feminist - Sexism, cancel culture, how easily terrible people are forgiven

S6 Ep3: Feel-Good Story - Corporation corruption, rich elitism, how the government benefit the rich

Why do the water creatures not need some sort of breathing equipment above water?

In Fish out of Water (underwater episode) we see that all the land creatures need breathing equipment to be in the underwater city, as would make sense with biology, but why don’t the water creatures (like the fish) need water.

I didn’t notice or have a problem with this at all under I watched that episode, it feels odd that the land creatures wouldn’t be able to breathe underwater but the water creatures would be able to on land

I’m sure literally everyone got this joke on their first watch but i’m on my 5th rewatch and i’ve only just understood it lmao

In the scene where we first meet Wanda she keeps saying ‘who’ because of her coma and not knowing anything that’s happened in the past 30yrs. I’ve only just understood that that’s bc she’s an owl and owls go hoo lmao

Who is the least problematic character in the whole show?

Basically every character in this show is heavily flawed and done a lot of bad things.

I would argue Todd because I can’t think of anything bad he did off the top of my head, but I might be forgetting things. Also donating your kidney to your mother who you have no contact with is an incredibly good thing to do.

You could also argue Mr PB but cheating on Pickles with Diane was pretty shitty so probably not him.

Any of the side characters would also work but no very minor characters.

In your opinion what’s the most underrated episode?

For me it’s definitely this one (S4 Ep7 - Underground) for me it’s definitely the funniest of the whole show.

I understand why it’s not talked about much as it’s overall pretty unimportant for the plot but it’s so good, Jessica Biel going insane, Zach Braff being burned and eaten, Princess Carolyn being the diplomat for the ants and the jokes about gentrification, there’s just so much to like.

I love all episodes of Bojack (yes even Chickens) but the silly nonsensical ones are some of the best in my opinion. They’re not what the show is known for but definitely good and needed comic relief.

Also, another silly Bojack episode which I don’t think is appreciated enough is S6 Ep4 - Surprise. The concept of a surprise wedding is ridiculous enough itself, but all the guests having to hide the whole episode is so funny to me, impressive the writers even thought this concept.

Noticed an inconsistency on my rewatch (from S1, E5: Live Fast Diane Nguyen)

Diane’s mum when talking about Diane being too good for her family compared to LA friends she mentioned George Clooney as an example. But, in the show it’s Jurj Clooners, weird that the writers didn’t think of this

Are there any theories on who Erica actually is?

She’s obviously a running joke throughout the show, I think she’s mentioned in the majority of episodes but does anyone have any theories on who she actually is?

How would rank the worst things Bojack did?

For me I would put it as:

  1. Sarah Lynn

  2. Penny

  3. Strangling Gina - Lower because he was under drug induced psychosis so it wasn’t fully him in control doing this

  4. The whole Herb thing

Of all the antagonists in the show who do you think is the worst?

I think the antagonists throughout the show were: P.T Westmorland, Rachel, Dr Leekie, Dr Coady, Evie Cho and Ferdinand

I would argue Ferdinand is the worse although it may be biased as he killed Mrs S, what do you think?

EDIT: Forgot add Susan sorry in my head she’s more of an anti-hero in a way but still an antagonist ig
