51 sec this morning, new PB for Full Hold
Almost reached the minute I feel that sometimes the shape is still turning too much into a banana.
What do you think?
Such a very productive day 🤸♂️
Spent most of my Saturday working on my handstand training app and it’s content.
I ended up listing 105 exercises that I want to properly document and film over the next few days. 54 of them are already integrated in the app, so there’s still quite a bit of work to do and demos to record.
Mobility, strength, balance, conditioning… everything I’ve found useful (and wish I had known sooner) to learn handstands.
The photo is the slightly chaotic result of today’s work. Now I just have to film and add all of this.
If you want to try to suggest new drills, I will tell you if they are already there or not 👌🏼
I filmed 40+ handstand drills, 22 are now on YouTube. Your take on the format?
Hi everyone,
Short story: I did more than six years of gymnastics as a kid, in three stints of about two years each, and I still couldn't hold a handstand for a long time. Adult, I got a full minute once, feet together, February 2023, then I stopped for a while, and I started training again in June 2026, managed to hold one 48 sec 2 days ago.
While rebuilding my own handstand I filmed 40+ drills for an app I'm building, wrist prep, shoulder work, wall drills, bails, and I've been putting them on YouTube one at a time. 22 are up now. No talking, the steps are written on screen next to the video, and none of them runs over a minute (I loop the movement twice).
One thing I changed thanks to the initial feedback I got here: The font is bigger now, and I redid the older ones one by one.

Here's a miniature example:
I'd love to hear your feedback, and if there's one you'd want me to film just say it.
(Already have a list of 105 drills in total to be created!)
Thanks a lot!
Is this format of demo video helpful?
Hey, I just filmed 36 drills for my handstand app, just put the first 6 up as a playlist on Youtube.
Here's an example for the great Chest to Wall - Alternating Toe Taps (one of my favorite to build balance and alignment).
I used the same format for all of them: no sound, movement looped 2 or 3 times, steps written on the side. 20 to 35 seconds.
Since we share many drills tips here I figured this could be helpful.
What do you think of the format?
Is the text column useful, text too small ?
Here is the full playlist with the 6 warm up drills uploaded so far:

If something looks wrong in the execution or if you have any feedback / comment, please share.
Thanks !
PS: Bonus question: Would you like a background music?

New PB freestanding handstand
Started training handstand again a few weeks ago, following a structured plan 3 to 5 times per week with short sessions (10 to 15 min) happy that I’m getting more and more stable and able to correct without over correcting… till I’m tired and I can’t anymore.
Still got to work on opening the shoulders more though.
Aiming to get the full hold 1 min back soon 💪🏼
New PB
Still using my program 3 to 4 times a week: happy that I’m getting more and more stable and able to correct without over correcting… till I’m tired and I can’t anymore.
Still got to work on opening the shoulders more though.

My handstand app is finally out on the App Store. Two weeks free to try it and tell me what to improve
Hi again r/Handstands. Some of you saw my videos in Corsica in July and other record videos.
I recently almost reached the minute! (will continue to share the progress here). I also shared a beginner guide on how to learn how to do a handstand (that thread taught me a lot and hopefully now the pages are less AI sounding).
The app I've been working on for the last 3 months is finally out since last week: Handstand Pro, iPhone only for now. It's like Duolingo lingo for learning Handstand, with sessions lasting from 10 to 20 minutes focusing on the training the skills you need to learn to improve with adapted drills (over 50 already). From total beginner to Press or One-Arm. The goal is to provide structure, method and guidance.
Full disclosure: I'm an ex gymnast, not a developer so I build it with Claude. What's mine in it is the practice, the progressions, the experience and a lot of hours of polishing to make it as useful as possible.
Quick story: I had the initial idea around 2021, I made a first version in July 2024 while between two jobs (a few friends even crowdfunded my Apple developer license, we still have a WhatsApp group), then I changed job, moved, had renovation work, it stopped for almost two years.
I got back to it mid June, same month I got back to training my Handstand seriously, and doing both at the same time is what made it stick this time.
Since June I went from 5-8 sec to 57 in freestanding hold, using the app 4 to 5 times per week for my own sessions. I had over 50 beta testers that gave me great feedback and helped me improve it. I am committed to improving it over the next months and already have a lot of small adjustments I want to make (maybe even a Watch version?!)
For the launch there's a 14 day free trial on the yearly plan, so two full weeks to actually train with it before paying anything. I'll bring it back down to one week sometime in September.
After that it's $4.99 a month or $34.99 a year, and there's a one time $89.99 if you don't want a subscription at all (US prices, it can vary for your store).
Now that it's live, what I'd really like is your feedback. Especially if a progression feels wrong, or if an exercise isn't clear enough without a coach next to you.
iPhone only for now, sorry to the Android people. I'm solo on this and iOS is already quite a lot.

Thanks for reading this long post 🫶🏼
Super curious to have your feedback now 🤸🏽♂️
Merci 🫶🏼
New PB 27 sec Full Hold. Any advices?
Hey. I did a new PB this morning at the gym. I’m still training 3 to 5 times a week (Also working on my Duolingo app for learning handstand).
Still fall into a banana shape at some moments. Shoulders are opening more slowly day after day.
Any tips? Drills I should try?
Motivating everyone to try handstand at the beach
Funny story that happened yesterday: I'm on holiday in Corsica, getting my handstand back while training daily with my new app, I was training at the beach and ended up motivating 7 strangers to try handstand 🤸🏻♂️
Two of my friends started to try with me, then we got two strangers joining us, and then a bit later five other joined us.
Small butterfly effet, funny how when you put energy in something it can be contagious!
Morning I like: Woke up in Corsica, walked outside, held 23 seconds, New PB 🎉
New PB since I restarted, still far from the 1 min I did a few years ago. Still need to work on opening the shoulders more, what do you think?
I'm following the training provided by the Handstand Pro app to know drills that keep me improving. Curious to know where I'll be in a few weeks. I'll keep sharing the progress here 🤸🏻♂️
TestFlight testers in France see US IAP prices (USD) instead of the FR App Store (EUR) - found a fix?
Hey everyone,
I'm running a beta on TestFlight and hit a confusing issue with in-app purchases. My testers are based in France and their App Store account (Apple ID) is set to the French store, but inside the app they're seeing the US IAP conditions with USD prices instead of the French ones with EUR prices.
From what I understand, on iOS the in-app purchase storefront is normally supposed to follow the country of the user's App Store account (Apple ID). That's exactly what makes this puzzling: my users are properly on the FR store, yet they're still shown the US terms and pricing.
I've done a fair bit of searching before posting, and I've seen a few scattered mentions that this is a known/occasional problem, but I haven't been able to find a clear, confirmed solution. So I wanted to ask directly in case some of you have dealt with it.
A few things I'm trying to understand:
- If the Apple ID is on the FR storefront, what could still make the app pull the US products/pricing?
- Is this something specific to the TestFlight/sandbox environment that resolves itself in production?
- Is there anything to check on the App Store Connect side (pricing/availability per territory) that could cause products to fall back to the US storefront?
If anyone has run into this and found a reliable way to make testers see their local storefront and currency, I'd really appreciate hearing how you solved it.
I saw some people laughing it without solving the issue and in the real AppStore everything was fine, but still would, like to resolve this if possible.
Thanks a lot in advance!
Beginner's guide on the 5 wall drills to starting with - Feedback please 🤸🏻♂️
Hey r/handstand,
As I shared already, after a long break I've gotten back into handstand training. I'm also sharing/documenting the whole process so it's greater commitment.
Small win: I held a 15-second freestanding handstand today 🙌 not the 1 min I achieved in the past, but real progress after starting again a few weeks ago.
I'm also an app lover, so I'm building a small app alongside my own practice, the training companion I wish I'd had when I started. As part of that project I just put together a beginner guide on wall handstands, and I'd love a sanity check from you as I also integrated a lot of the tips I got here.
My framing is that the wall isn't a beginner's crutch, advanced practitioners also use it to clean up alignment safely. I lead with chest-to-wall work to build correct shape before going freestanding. Here are the 5 drills I recommend, in order:
- Partial Wall Walk > climb halfway up the wall to build shoulder strength with zero fall risk.
- Full Wall Walk > walk all the way up; the bridge between strength and the actual handstand position.
- Chest-to-Wall Hold > the reference position: push hard into the floor, hands 15–20 cm from the wall, hold up to 60s.
- Toe Pulls > lift your toes off the wall one at a time for your first real freestanding balance, with the wall as a safety net.
- Back-to-Wall Kick-Up > practice kick-ups with the wall behind you to catch momentum, prepping for freestanding.
My questions for you:
- Does this order make sense as a true beginner progression?
- Anything essential you'd add? I was also considering heels pulls, or alternating legs touch but I guess it's already a bit more advanced.
- Anything you'd drop or replace? (I'm especially curious whether people think chest-to-wall before kick-ups is the right call.)
Full write-up here if you want the details:
"Wall handstands: the 5 drills to start with" : https://learn.handstandpro.app/en/wall-handstand-drills/
One more thing: once the app is a bit more advanced (should be just a few days), I'll be looking for a few motivated beta testers to actually run the program and tell me whether they see progress. If that sounds like you, drop a comment and I'll reach out when it's ready.
Full transparency: this guide lives on the site for the app I'm building, any feedback is genuinely what I'm after at this stage. It's a small side project, I'm really dedicated to both my progress and making the app useful. Thanks a lot 🙏
