Salman Khan cameo in the Odyssey
For anyone going to watch the Odessey by Christopher Nolan, please don't miss the special cameo by Bhaijaan aka Salman Khan.
The Odyssey review (minor spoiler ahead, read at your own risk. Although, there's nothing to spoil if one is familiar with the source material.)

Christopher Nolan has brought a distinct perspective to the screen with his adaptation of The Odyssey. It is important to clarify that this is not Homer’s ancient epic. Instead, the film serves as a direct rendition of Emily Wilson’s modern retelling. Discourse regarding this release has been polarizing. Some viewers dismiss the project entirely, while others label it a magnum opus. In truth, it is neither. The film displays clear instances of Nolan’s cinematic genius, yet it also carries significant flaws.
The cinematography is iconic. Nolan manages to make the Greek myth feel grounded and realistic rather than purely historical. The CGI work is seamless. Ludwig Göransson earns further praise for a score that aligns perfectly with the arduous return from the Trojan War. The cave sequence featuring the Cyclopes remains a standout achievement in craft. The depiction of the Trojan War is equally impressive.
Matt Damon delivers what may be his finest performance. He portrays a war-torn Odysseus, grappling with PTSD and a singular desire to return home. Anne Hathaway provides strong support as Penelope. She imbues the wait for her husband with a palpable sense of longing and dread. Among the supporting cast, John Leguizamo shines as Eumaeus. Robert Pattinson also stands out, showcasing an admirable range in his portrayal of the villain Antinous. Furthermore, Himesh Patel holds his own, going toe-to-toe with Damon in terms of screen presence. Nolan treats magical elements with subtlety. He presents magic as a dangerous force that should not be meddled with. The characters express confusion and awe, mirroring the reaction of the audience.
The film does falter in specific areas. Tom Holland feels miscast as Telemachus. While he attempts to bring the character to life, he appears as a boy struggling in a man's world. He fails to convey the presence of a prince. The script also struggles at times. Certain lines of modern English dialogue drain the situation of its gravity and break the immersion. And of course the casting of Lupita Nyong'o as Helen of Troy is laughable to say the least. Good for the movie though, her screentime was so small, that it makes me wonder if Nolan tried to play with the trolls of social media. Same goes with Eliot Page/ ellen page (sorry I don't even want to check up who she is, sorry he is, they is?). But the good news is she isn't playing Achilles. Also, the absence of Greek actor based on a play of Greek epic seems a choice of question.
The final forty-five minutes resolves a complex puzzle. This conclusion bears the clear, signature style of a Nolan production. Ultimately, this film does not reach the level of a grand spectacle. However, it does not deserve the intense backlash it has received from some corners. The experience is rewarding for those who have read Wilson’s translation and can approach the work as Nolan’s unique vision rather than a strict adaptation of Homer.

M,34, Feeling helpless:When will my PhD be completed? Will I get love or arranged marriage?
I'm currently pursuing my PhD research in the Mechanical Engineering domain since January 2022. But, everything is so stuck. No progress is happening. I want to know when some progress will happen in my PhD studies and when will my PhD be completed? Everything is so stuck and progressing slowly.
Will my marriage be arranged or love? For context, my family is pressurizing me for marriage, in an arranged marriage set-up. But, I'm not interested in arranged marriage. So, can someone tell me please will I have love and relationship or shall I go for an arranged marriage?
