DOT Survey Changes to Grand St and Metropolitan Ave

A flyer caught my attention, sharing with the netizens if you haven't seen it. If you live, and/or work in the area you may have an opinion about what happens to these streets.

>NYC DOT is studying possible changes to Grand Street and Metropolitan Avenue between Union Avenue and the Metropolitan Avenue Bridge. The study is looking at whether Grand Street could become one-way eastbound and Metropolitan Avenue could become one-way westbound.

Take the survey. Visit the project page.

Raise The Steaks

Edit: SPOILERS if you're new!

I just finished watching this epsiode and I was coming on here to rant and rave about how Steve is a hypocrite. I had called 🧢 cause how can you go from the first scene to the last scene all in the space of one episode?

Then I went back to get the pictures for this post and I realized that it wasn't hypocrisy, it was prophesy! When Steve said he saw what money does to people, he wasn't speaking metaphorically, he was speaking from experience.

So ultimately, Hank was his own undoing 😔 he optimized the store, and then as Steve said, "they opened the door and the establishment marched right in," talk about a total vibe shift!

Interesting Natural Phenomena - Coastal Uplift

On Wednesday 24th June, Venezuela experienced deadly 7.1 and 7.5 earthquakes (death toll nearly to 1000). Trinidad and Tobago is 11km or 7 miles off the coast of Venezuela, at the nearest point you can see the country without binoculars.

On one of the coastal beaches, a local group (South West Adventures) documented coastal uplift that has not been seen or experienced in Trinidad and Tobago before. It is not confirmed, but it is suspected that it is related to the earthquakes as this occurred after the earthquakes.

Video here

The first half of the video shows the coastal uplift, the second half shows some marine life that were trapped by boulders...this part is also perplexing. I'd be curious to hear your thoughts about it.

What makes a good demo lesson?

I'm not new to teaching but I haven't had to demo in a long time so I'm a bit out of practice there.

If you're part of the hiring team, what do you look for in a demo that signals, "this teacher is a good fit"?

Level: high school

Content: science

Thanks !
