Hey Fox Sports, jsyk

There is no "Wilson" Contreras on the Brewers.

There's not even a "Wilson" Contreras on the Red Sox.

I've even heard their "experts" call William the wrong name live on TV. They've done it so much, you have to wonder if they're doing it on purpose.

Step count difference.

Am syncing Amazfit data to Google Health..

Google Health says my steps are 30435 but my Amazfit T-Rex says 25359..

Phone step tracking is turned off.

Why the 5000+ difference?

I like the Google Health widget, which is why I'm syncing that data. If Zepp made a decent set of widgets I wouldn't care.

Really really don't like CPAP (4 years in)

I have been using a full face mask with a Resmed Airsense 11.

Half my days, sleep feels good.

The days I am bothered by my CPAP, it's usually leaks, discomfort from the cushion on my nose/bridge of nose, or just the "awareness" that it's there, in general. Some days, I just cannot get comfortable with it.

My results sometimes seem to be false. I have a 100 final score- but I don't feel rested. Other days, I have a 90 and I felt super rested. I feel like the numbers mean nothing. The app feels useless to me, 4 years in.

What's most concerning to me, is those days when I just don't feel like CPAP and I sleep without it, it feels so mentally rewarding. I feel human on those days.

I haven't seen my NP in charge of my "case" since 2023, just because I don't know what she'd have to offer. Our 2 visits have been a little tense and I feel there's a personality conflict with us. How does one ask for a new person to deal with?

Also, in my original diagnosis, it was very obstructive apnea.. 50 events per hour. My nightly CPAP results claim 1-2 events per hour now. I wish I felt more rested than what my results are telling me.

Has anyone had success with any sort of surgery? I know i have a large uvula, not sure if that can contribute.. What about tonsillectomy and/or adenoid removal? Can this "fix" the obstructions? I know I could ask the NP or the cardiologist (and sleep apnea specialist) I saw in my first visit, but as I said, I don't have a great feel when I see her, so I'd rather ask people who've actually lived these experiences.

Thanks for listening.

Texting using Gemini with Android Auto crashes

Setup:

2018 Hyundai Tucson SEL with Android auto compatibility, Samsung Galaxy S25 FE with all updates

Tested both wirelessly (USB AA dongle) and wired

When I use Google Assistant to voice text or reply to a FB message, things go great.

When I use Gemini, when I speak the voice text or FB message and Gemini is about to send it (either by me vocally responding with "Send" or by hitting the onscreen Send button,, I get a message on the head unit screen, and sorry i don't have the exact message, but something to the effect of "Phone has stopped responding" or "Android Auto has stopped responding".. the AA session resumes a few seconds later. I can attempt to start the text all over again, and maybe 1 out of 3 or 4 attempts it will actually work.

Super frustrating to have to attempt a voice text multiple times.

Again, Google Assistant never crashes. Gemini sucks for voice text/messenger.

Anyone have a straightforward fix? I've reinstalled AA, I've rebooted the phone between re-installs.. I've tried wired and wireless. I guess i could have my wife try her phone to try to replicate it, but that might put her over the edge 🤣..

Anyway, any ideas (other than "just use Google Assistant") would be great!

Side sleeper pillows

Been a side sleeper forever, been a Resmed Airsense 10 with F20 mask wearer for 4 years.

Half my battle is with getting comfortable laying on my side with a full (nose and mouth) mask. I can't get the pillow situation right, and I know there are pillows on Amazon advertised as side sleeper CPAP pillows.

Anyone have a favorite they've settled on, that doesn't cost a ton?

Thanks!

Favorite sleeper albums of 1972?

Hey! So I attend a vinyl night at a brewery I go to, and i like to bring albums from the year I was born (1972).

Other than the famous 1972 albums, let's hear your favorite "sleeper" hit albums of that year. Preferably hard rock or soul.

"electronic noise" noise since using ear wax drops..

The title says it all. Used ear drops twice in three days because it felt like there was a buildup. I think I can hear better now, but even if I cover my ears, I can hear what I can only describe as high frequency electronic noise, almost like (if you know, you know) using an old school CRT montior, and you can actually hear certain screen events, such as text scrolling, or resolution changes on the screen. High pitched buzzy is the best way I can describe it.

Should I do another wax removal attempt, or is this the new normal? Lol.

D**th question

Hello!

I have. 9 year old boxer/am staff terrier/American Bulldog mix, and she's been pretty much the best dog I've had (had 4 dogs in my life, of various sizes and breeds)..

I know she's not a purebred boxer, but I thought I'd ask here because she has a "boxer heart" and has been on heart medication (Sotalol) since 3 years ago.

This is the first larger-breed dog I've ever had (my last dog was a 25lb epileptic Jack Russell or Rat Terrier mix, and lived til almost 18 years old) so my experiences with a dog that only lives to 10-12 years old is new to ne.

I have a few questions for the people who have had boxers and/or similar breed, and whose dog(s) have passed away.

  1. If you are one of the lucky ones whose Boxer doesn't have a heart condition.. How long did your Boxer live?

Or 1b:

1b. If your dog DID have a heart condition that was controlled with medication, how long did it live?

  1. When your dog was reaching its end of life, what were the main symptoms?

  1. If you've had multiple boxers throughout your life, what in your experience is the average life expectancy?

I'm asking all of this because our dog's now just over 9 years old, and she has slowed down A LOT in the past year, and even more noticeably in that past few months. She isn't nearly as snuggly as she used to be (though her greetings are still pretty epic), she pants a lot more often than she used to, and when she eats food, she doesn't always finish all of it (she has a slow feeder and will really take her time, revisiting the slow feeder dish 1 or 2 more times after the initial visit, whereas a year ago and previous, she would always finish it all in one sitting. She also likes solitude a lot more often than ever before. She used to lay between my wife and I on the couch while we watch tv, but now she will lay by us for a bit but then move to the floor. She never used to sleep on the floor (other then where her dog bed is), but these days or feels like she's uncomfortable.

So I guess my 4th question is, when your dog DID start slowing down as mine has, how much longer did you get with your dog before they left you (or you had them euthanized)?

If this is a weird post, sorry.. just feeling very worried our "best dog ever" might not be with us a lot longer 😞, and if there's not a whole lot a vet can do at this point, I'd rather just let her have her best life.

I'm 2017, 20-year-old Julio Mendez was playing a minor league game for the Brewers, got hit in the chest with a pitch, and went into cardiac arrest.. He went back to his home country, Venezuela, to recover..

Did he ever play ball again, anywhere, or was the incident too much physically for him to ever go back and play? He's only 28 or 29 now- wondering why there was never any comeback attempt. There was never any real followup story on this.
