My first fps games I played with the arrow keys but I've been playing on ESDF since the first Half-Life. It made sense as the F key (as well as the J key) on regular keyboards have that little ridge to find them blindly. As you learned in typing class. Is that still a thing?

So it always baffled me that WASD became the standard. I have way more keys for my ring and pinkie finger.
