First time DM taking on Saltmarsh

Hello

Do you believe Saltmarsh is a good campaign for a first time DM to run?

I'm curious to hear why or why not.

I am still new to the game and this will be my first campaign to DM. thank you.

Help me with my first map! (WIP)

I am building out a concept of a world that is divided into nature themed factions...

  • The central forest
  • Swamp of decay (right)
  • Mushroom forest (top right)
  • Volcano (top left)
  • Various humanoid industrial cities (left)

Where can I go from here? What can I improve?

Trucks are Gender Affirming Care for Weak Men

Most men who own a truck don't use it for work. It's for the identity and persona of being "rugged" and "tough" while working in an office. There is data now that supports this.

In capitalism many people don't know how to build a genuine identity so they just buy things to fill the void.

Career counselor doesn't know how to help me?

My career counselor closed my file because they basically didn't know how to help me anymore and I couldn't decide on a specific career path and industry. This was kind of awkward because I am still learning the many career paths out there and looking for experiences aligned with my interests. I thought it was strange to be frustrated at someone for not knowing what they want (the frustration was sort of implicit in their tone) as that's basically what being a career counselor is for?

Music degree ruined my life

Majoring in music was one of the worst decisions I have made. I have been struggling to find employment prospects for a year while living under the poverty line. I resent my professors and school for encouraging this path for me. I have grief every day I did not study a STEM path.

Career Change into microbiology?

Hi, please excuse my naivety as I am just trying to figure out my life and the job market

I have a bachelors degree in music but am interested in Microbiology. Specifically agriculture and environmental applications within that field.

Would it be possible to complete a post-bacc or masters with some credits from a community college?

I would ideally be working examining plant and animal diseases, pesticides, pollutants, water and soil quality

Music degree career changer

I graduated a year ago with a music degree and now am trying to enter the workforce to build a successful career.

I dont think I even want to work in the music industry as it feels like there is very few opportunities and the pay is shit.

I'm trying to figure out something else I can do now. I'm interested in science and have considered completing another degree.

Please help

Feel like I have no future

College graduate sitting on a music degree which I feel like is totally useless. I feel like I can't get any decent job other than food service or retail. I worry I made a poor choice by getting what is objectively (compared to any STEM degree) a lesser and poorly versatile degree.

I do not want to pivot to any career in business (accounting, HR, IT). I do not want to work as a nurse or in the trades. I see a lot of jobs now that do not pay enough to live and work you to the bone. This economy is pretty scary.

I would enjoy doing something that relates to environmentalism, community engagement, or agriculture. I suppose I would have to go back to school to complete another science based degree, but maybe I'm ignorant.

Any help?

TRM Tagalong thoughts?

I'm interested in picking up a Trm tagalong in magnacut. Just unsure how it would perform, or if it would be too small for me. I have a L sized glove hand. Anyone have experience with this knife, and big hands - how does it perform?

My other thought was the big idea lookout

Small scale EDC blade options in MagnaCut?

I'm looking for a knife that is small-scale, 2-2.5" blade length, in MagnaCut steel, as an EDC utility blade. I prefer heritage style knives with wooden or micarta scales, as opposed to "modern" geometric designs. I'm willing to spend $150-200.

I would appreciate any suggestions or help. Thanks.
