If your life isn't working, why do you keep repeating the same moves ?

If your life isn't working, why do you keep repeating the same moves ?

When the way we are living does not suffice, when the same old patterns does not takes us away from our usual daily circumstances. The same stress from boss, the same grocery shopping hassles, the same quarrels with husband.

We still keep walking down the same track and expect that we can arrive at a new destination where all this hell will not be there.

“Walking the same old paths, how will you reach a new destination?”

So, do the new work ! This quote from the book Bodh Sutra says, “Do the new work, find the new ways, do the remediation.”

But the issue we have in doing that is to accept challenges, get outside of our comfort zones, accept the dangers irrespective of courage. The book says, “ For bringing the right things, doing the right action, no effort is too great, and no hardship is too much to bear”. Because that only can bring you out of your hell and whatever can be done to come out of that, should be done.

I never truly understood his love for us : What really Gandhiji meant by Ahimsa ?

What else we really feel missing in our lives other than love ? And the people who really loved us, did we ever got close to them ? We just keep ignoring the depth of love they had for us because society prints an image of them in our head and we assume that as truth.

Coming to our daily lives, I noticed how we act differently in our society because we don't like to disturb anyone, we don't want to be a reason of their sadness, so we often don't speak it out that how are we internally feeling, how the external chaos is impacting us. And the original thing named Ahimsa (non violence) that when came to us from our parents became so misinterpreted from what Gandhiji was trying to convey us.

Our parents said, "Just do your work, get back home, don't try to debate anyone, do not hurt their feelings" etc. But that cannot happen for long, if something is really bothering us and we just keep trying to ignore all stuff and passing fake smile, what we are doing is violence towards ourselves because this will eventually make us distorted from within and if one is distorted within he'll be violent outside. That means this is not the Ahimsa that Gandhiji was talking about.

Here I understood from the video that AP is saying that if living distorted like this will make us violent inside and then violent outside, then that means not becoming distorted from inside is what Ahimsa (non-violence) is. That means not accepting to live a false life is Ahimsa towards ourselves and then towards others also.

If we don't call a lazy person lazy and we keep greeting him as a good man etc. why he'll ever become active ? He would think that being like this lazy when I am respected so much then it is a good way of living altogether. Will he ever change ? No ! And might he get obese over time and develop cardiac issues for example. Have we done non violence to him ? It appears from outside but its not.

Then living the right life, making right choices, dropping all falsehood, denying all the bondages is what the real meaning of Ahimsa is. That's what kind of life Gandhiji was thinking for us, a life free from bondages.

Happy Gandhi Jayanti to everyone (in advance), may we question and understand the real meaning of things the great people had for us.

Why feeling restless inside makes us put on a holy mask outside: A reflection on a verse by Saint Raidas

Maathe Tilak Hath Japmala, Jag thagne ko swang banaya

Marag chhad kumarg uhkai, Sachi preet bin Raam na paya

~ Saint Raidas (Ravidas)

If we take the literal meaning of these lines, they simply say that to cheat the world one make himself look like spiritual by putting tilak on the forehead and taking rosary in the hand. Dropping the right path, he strays into wrong direction but doesn't find Raam without true love.

When the same is studied in the light of Vedanta, gets a deeper meaning.

The ego (sense of incompleteness) wants to cling to different different identities to stay alive, the one who says I am incomplete will wander here and there in search of things to feel complete. So to get acknowledgement of its presence from the world, the ego puts on the robe of a spiritual identity.

All these games ego play because at the core of it, lies its restlessness. Out of pain, out of its fragile state, it tries all other ways (Kumarg) to cure itself but does not chooses its own dissolution (Marg or sumarg ie. the right path).

Ego is a born lover of liberation (mukti or Raam) because it suffers but liberation requires love. Instead of choosing the honest path of self reflection and self observation, letting its own falseness drop, ego chooses the dishonest path to ignore the causes of its restlessness which can be seen in its daily actions. Saint Raidas says that liberation requires love and there is no other way, ego has the choice either to choose liberation or to suffer. The right choice requires love which is seeing and intent.

Maybe Spirituality Isn’t an Escape From Life, But a Way of Seeing It Clearly

We are not kinda fan of the way we are, the way we live, the atmosphere we have built around ourselves. That is why we constantly seek something entirely different from our usual daily lives.

And we therefore establish a belief to leave the complications of our daily lives behind and move to some garden of roses and we name that as Spirituality.

This quote I came across, feels like have touched right at the core. I mean where else can we go ? Wherever we escape, we need to come back to our daily lives. Then spirituality cannot be a far away happy island but a light that brings me vision to understand where I am wandering and bring me back to my own center of wisdom, through which I can navigate my daily hurdles with clarity and wisdom.

Baby elephant chose violence

his baby elephant really woke up and decided the birds were his biggest enemies. 😂

He starts throwing little charges at them like he’s defending the whole family, completely forgets about his balance, and then faceplants into the ground. 😭

But the best part? After his dramatic defeat, he gets back up like nothing happened and immediately runs back to his mom for backup. 🥹😂

Bro really said:
“I lost the battle… MOM, WE NEED TO TALK.”
