Would greatly appreciate some advice. 5’10 47yo. 188 to 159. Next steps?

So many knowledgeable folks here and I’m hoping to get some guidance from you all. These photos are 188 to 159. Few years ago I was pushing 240. I’ve been heavy all of my life.

I started tirz this April and lost the almost 30lbs from April to now. I focus my diet heavily on protein intake. I’m a tennis addict and in our short Vermont summer I play 5-6 days a week. Usually 90min to 3hours a session. I strength train with my trainer twice a week but struggle to push the strength work too hard in tennis season because the fatigue impacts my match play. I’m super proud of the changes and I feel better and more athletic than ever. I can do sets of pull ups for the first time in my life! Can move so much faster on the court.

I’m still struggling with the lower stomach though. It’s truly a slow process. I appreciate that. Some of the progress pics on here blow my mind though. So my question is what should be my next steps to getting the body to look the way I want?

Do I need to stay the course and be patient?

Crank up the strength training come September when tennis season ends? I could go up 4 dedicated strength days a week easily.

Need to consider any other meds etc?

What would you do?

Sincerely appreciate any wisdom.

Edit. I’m 5’10 and 47yp

Help w next steps. 188 to 162. 5’10 47yo. Been overweight my whole life

TLDR - what are my next steps to getting fitter. Is it just keep doing what I’m doing? Add something? Etc

The progress photos I see on here blow my mind. There seems to be so much knowledge here too. I’ve been chubby or more my entire life. In 2016 I was 240. Got myself to the mid 180s with more activity and better eating.

I went on tirz this April and I’m sitting at 162 now just a few months later. I’m an active tennis player during the warm months. Play 90-180min 5-6 days a week. And I strength train with a trainer 2 days a week. I can’t push the weights too hard in summer because of the competitive tennis playing. Come fall and winter I’ll be in the gym far more. But on my Apple Watch most days I burn 1000-1750 active calories.

According to my trainers InBody machine and my hume scale almost all my current weight loss has been body fat with only a small amount of muscle loss. I strive to hit about 160g of protein daily. Cut almost all alcohol out of my life.

I feel better mentally and physically than i ever have in my life but now I feel like I’m not too far away from really getting fit. But I’m just not certain what the best course of action is. At 5’10 I don’t feel like I need to weigh less on the scale but clearly my body composition needs to keep changing.

So I’m wondering do I have to get more strength days in? Do I just need to be patient and stay the course? Should I consider something like testosterone? My blood work shows my T levels aren’t low but they’re all middle to lower of “normal”.

I’m really proud of the progress but I want to keep going and really get myself in shape for the first time in my life.

Thank you all for taking the time to read this and share insight. I truly appreciate it.

2026 atlas sel - can I stop satallite radio pausing when volume is off?

Title kinda says it all. It’s an interesting concept but I’d like the Sirius radio to not pause playback when the radio volume is turned to zero. Sometimes we just wanna turn it up when a great song comes on etc.

Thanks!

Entering month 4 and this medication is truly remarkable to me.

The stories on this sub are so inspiring. I’m blown away by the life changing success stories on here.

My own personal journey was going from 240lbs down to the 180s over a handful of years. But then I got stuck. The last 2 years was just a constant yoyo of 182-188. And still struggling to feel comfortable in my skin. I started the medication on April 1st weighing 188.

Over the last 4 months I’ve spent a week with the family at an all inclusive resort in the Caribbean and just last week I was on an all inclusive cruise in Alaska. Both vacations I came back at the same weight as when I left. That’s never happened before.

While my hume scale is certainly inaccurate about body fat etc. I just try to focus on the trend lines. My personal trainers InBody machine shows similar trends as well. Almost all the weight has been fat loss. It’s taken a dedication to a high protein plan and being active. But I’ve never felt so positive about the years ahead.

Grateful for this community and all the support and knowledge shared here.

It’s intimidating but making my symphonic pops debut tonight!

I’m a producer and recording engineer 95% of the time but got the rare opportunity to play with 65+ symphonic musicians for a July 4th show tonight. It’s a pretty amazing feeling but also pretty damn intimidating. Gonna enjoy every minute that I can.

My 13yr old son just got his first hole in one!

Proud dad. The kid is an obsessive golfer. He plays like 6 days a week during the summer and is already dreaming of college golf. He’s definitely the youngest player at our club to go up on the wall in the club house! 147yd par 3. Pin in the back. 4 hybrid landed at the front and rolled all the way in.

So excited for him!

Almost 12 weeks in and my mind is blown by the progress.

I don’t want to get into a whole thing about the accuracy of an InBody machine vs DEXA or whatever. My main interest here is trend lines. And I wish you could see the older measurements where my body fat was measuring at 28+. Seeing the numbers move like this gives me so much confidence to keep pushing.

The appetite control plus high protein plus a combination of a lot of tennis and strength training is truly transforming my physical and mental health. I’ve never felt like I could be fit. I was chubby as a kid, through college, as an adult…it never felt like I could be anything but that. At my wedding I was pushing 235+lbs. it almost hurts to look at those old photos.

Sadly we don’t get do overs, but we do get the chance to change what comes next.

I’ve never been more excited about what’s to come. Truly grateful for this community and these medications.

Any of you pros have experience with the Lewitt 1040 Tube/Fet combo mic?

Been really craving another "vocal" mic to add to the locker and the 1040 has been mentioned to be a handful of times. The idea of all the Fet/Tube modes and settings seems like a really fun and flexible mic. I also appreciate that it's not trying to emulate something that already exists. But I have no real experience with Lewitt. I think it would pair well with my current LD mics but I'd be curious to hear your thoughts on it - for vocals and sources like grand piano, room miking, etc etc.

10 week point. Broke 170 and down to 18% body fat.

I really can’t believe the progress in only 10 weeks. Started at 188 and 21% body fat. Today I just did an InBody scan at my trainers gym and I’m at 169 and 18.2%. I can almost picture myself without an overhanging belly now. It actually feels achievable for the first time in my life.

I was probably in my teens the last time I weighed anywhere near 170.

Gotta keep the protein and workouts going but feeling so positive. I want to be the “hot” dad before I’m too old to make it happen!

Rare I get to bring my PRS outside to play live (outside my recording studio).

The sound guys were melting at the tone of the Brazilian rosewood PRS and the amp combo.

I’ve got a handful of lovely electrics but this PRS is truly special.

I learned just because the script says to increase your dose, you might not want to.

I’ve had so much success with this medication over the past 2 months however I think I learned the hard way what taking more than your body needs does. 6 days ago was dose 9 and it said to go from 5mg to 7.5. So that’s what I did. I had no issues at 5 and it was working great, but I can say this week, 7.5 felt like too much.

I’m very very active and the 7.5 dose reduced my appetite so much it caused some problems with my physical activity. Over the week my weight dropped rapidly and I felt gassed and out of breath really quickly while working out and on the tennis court. I realized that I simply was under fueled. My stomach felt like it was tight and almost “eating itself” which is the best way I can describe it. I dropped from 174 to 168 which is way too fast.

As tomorrow starts a new week, I’ve been able to eat more reasonably appropriate portions yesterday and today. And I’m definitely going back to 5mg next injection.

i did not enjoy the feelings at all this week and while seeing a number in the 160s was pretty mind blowing to me, having no energy to compete was not. Also at 5’10 I don’t think I need to weigh any less than 165 ever. So I’m hoping going back to 5mg can even things out again where I can focus on building muscle and losing more fat. I’m confident it will.

Last night I ate a healthy dinner and had a healthy lunch today and felt so much better this afternoon playing tennis.

Long story short though, if things are working, be mindful about increases. A few days of discomfort aren’t a big deal but it was certainly eye opening.

I’ve pulled the f19 fuse. That reset it until we started up the car again.

It seems like this is an issue that’s happened to a few of you on here. We just ordered 2 vws and an Audi from the VW/audi dealership so I’m gonna raise a bit of a stink about this come Monday.

Sigh. 😮‍💨

It picked a wonderful time to crap the bed on me....but i suppose i've had it for what must be well over 15 years now in the studio. But now i need to find a replacement without rewiring everything too much. I don't even know what's out there these days.

Why can't these things die when there's not clients in the studio?
