First time I’ve seen a variegated wild comfrey! No seed this year but I hope next. Also first time finding ghost pipe on our property. Proud that my ten year old was the one to spot it.
I was just checking to see if any of my hand pollinated pods were ripe and one opened. I have apparently created a future army of fuzzy toilet paper leaves.
While cleaning up a random pile of plant related things today I found these two tiny pots. To my surprise there was a bag of seed inside. It took some serious brain power to figure out that the smudged writing stood for Pelecyphora strobiliformis. I do remember taking these pots out of a package but have no recollection who sent me these. Such rare seed, you’d think I would remember.
I bought a few seed from this source in the fall to try them out since they’re pricey. Got 50% germination out of them. I want to get more and thought I’d see if anyone is interested in order to get the better bulk pricing.
I forgot to take a before picture. Thinned it out a lot and plan to train some separation between the pads. The uppermost branch is in the process of being air layered. Thoughts?
Order of appearance: madagascarensis, Za, gregorii, digitata. Have a few fony as well but they aren’t leafed out currently.
