How to desensitize foster from human nail clipping sounds

Hey all! I have a foster pittie named Blu. He is a sweet and loving boy. I work for a dog boarding facility where he stays and I take him for overnight as often as I can which usually equivilates to about once every other week. This is to help him transition into a home when and if he ever can.

Well this past sleepover I was cutting my nails and he has some kind of trauma from getting his nails done roughly. Well I'm cutting my nails and he starts snarling and growling (no lunging or attempts to hurt me). Naturally I get concerned for him as this is something that is a regular occurrence in a house and I am now looking for the best way to go about desensitizing him to the sound of me cutting my nails in a safe way for us both.

He has his own regimen that we do to cut his nails now (he gets a trazodone before and we muzzle and hang him to dremmel them) we always try to end it on a high note with high value treats and he's gotten much better about his own nails.

I was thinking of some kind of plastic that mimics the sounds? Or should I only do it when I actually have to cut my nails? Has anyone encountered this before? I am open to any and all suggestions!

Day two post op so proud of this girl

This is our foster pascha! She just joined the club! She was suspected of being hit by a car and it caused neurological damage as well as broke her leg. Her leg healed but super incorrectly. It was causing her a lot of pain and she would just literally drag it along. So now that she is without that extra weight she is thriving! She goes to the bathroom unassisted (we were fully ready to help her she just didnt need it), she is maneuvering better than she did before and we even have to stop her from jumping up and running! I don't see a lot of posts about dogs who have a similar story so I thought you guys might enjoy paschas story ❤️ we are so incredibly proud of her and the progress she has made!

Placement thoughts?

First let me preface by saying I have already made the appointment with my artist and he is working on the actual final design not this concept photo that I used to explain what I was looking for. Second yes my artist has done pet portraits before specifically black cats as well and he has never sugar coated anything to me so he was very upfront about the fact that it will not look exactly like this and went into detail on what he would change and how. Third I'm debating on the placement of this, this is a tattoo of my passed cat whom I love dearly, that being said is this a more thigh tattoo or a more forearm tattoo? I already have a forearm tattoo so it wouldn't be my first forearm. I do not however have any thigh tattoos so it would be my first thigh tattoo. I see pros and cons to both so I thought i would come to reddit to help me make a decent choice 😂

TLDR: Forearm or thigh?

What could Saffron be?!

This is Saffron! She is our newest foster rescue ❤️ she is very affectionate and is just a snuggle bug. We were told from the rescue that she was a hound. This is highly unlikely based on what I know about hounds 😂 she is 6-8 months old and is so little ❤️ we jokingly call her a coyote or fox because of her colors. We are waiting for our embark test to come in the mail!

Wondering if this is too snug? I downsized from a 10mm to an 8mm post tonight and now I'm worried its too snug or am I just not used to having all the extra length to "play" with?

I dont play with them but they do move a lot and get stuck on my gums/teeth which is why im trying to downsize.

Piercing is 2 months old (bottom labret is only 1 month old). Internally threaded titanium. Ive had no issues healing either im just trying to make sure I dont have any issues going forward.
