Looking for 3 players for a longterm Starfinder campaign

Hey! I'm looking to start up a Starfinder 1E campaign based in my own universe. Using any race that exists, with pretty much any idea you have. I've got a homebrewed ship system, and it's on the hard sci-fi side of things (Think The Expanse mixed with Dune and Sun Eater).

We're looking to meet Saturdays at 12PM PST.

My only requirements are that you are 21 or older, able to commit to a long term campaign, and are reliable. If this interests you, send me a message on Discord @ pseudo_su and we can talk more and I can provide you with more info. Here's a teaser/something to get your brain in the right mindset:

You crew a mortgaged salvage ship in a frontier region that was settled two centuries ago and is thriving. There is no faster than light travel, so voyages cost years and you sleep through them. Something is wrong out here, and it is going to take a long time to find out what.

> BERTH NOTICE 14-B
> Posted at Ashgate Waystation, Cassidan Reach. Renewed quarterly. > > Independent hull seeks crew. Salvage and survey work, courier contracts, general haulage. Void-born preferred. No world, no dirt name, no family plot. > > Applicants should expect long voyages. The Guild rates the outbound run at eleven years of station time. Those with people waiting are advised to write ahead. > > Terms discussed at the berth office. Ask for the Berthmaster. > > Filed under the authority of the Chantry, whose records are complete.

The game

Because there is no faster than light travel, ships push toward relativistic speed and the crew sleeps through the journey in fugue, so a short hop costs months of outside time and a long run costs decades. You will come back to places you know and find them changed, and everyone you left behind will have aged while you have not. Between voyages you cut metal out of dead hulls, haul freight, take survey contracts, and occasionally move something for people who would rather you kept no records, because the mortgage does not care what else is happening.

You choose the work, but there is a clock running underneath it, and the setting moves fastest while you are asleep.

Your ship is a real part of the game rather than a set piece, with a custom shipyard and a browser sheet that handles the arithmetic. It is the only ground your characters will ever have, so expect to name it and argue about it.

Who I am looking for

Everyone at the table needs to be twenty-one or older. After that the thing I care about most is reliability.

It helps enormously if you like hard science fiction. Travel time is a resource in this game and it carries real emotional weight.

I also need some patience, since I have run plenty of games but never this system. I know the setting and the house rules because I wrote all of them, but I have never DM'd a Starfinder game before.

Session zero covers character creation, building the ship together, and a straight conversation about tone and content. There is institutional coercion in this campaign, loss to the passage of time, and children being quietly removed from families by an organization their parents trusted, so we take lines and veils seriously and I hold to them.

To apply

Send me a message on discord (pseudo_su) answering these. Short is fine.

  1. There will be sessions where nobody rolls dice. How does that sit with you?
  2. Your character is going to lose people to the passage of time and there will be nothing they can do about it. Is that interesting to you, or frustrating?
  3. Name someone your character would write a letter to. Not a backstory, just a name and what they are to each other.

Also tell me your availability and whether it is likely to hold for a long campaign.

Looking to get a few cheap RC drift cars for kids

Title. Looking to start up a little drift club for some kids at our church. They've expressed interest in RC cars (like all kids do) and the church has a massive carpet room that is perfect for drifting. I'm currently eyeing the LDRC LD180X group of cars. My only requirement is that I am able to repair them as I expect loads of crashes haha.

Any recommendations?
