Taking Ochem, Bio, and physics at the same time?

Hi, I was wondering if I could get some advice on whether this is doable? I plan to take organic chem (if i can get in) and gen bio for the upcoming year. I am premed, but due to some constraints I may need to also take physics 1 and 2 this year. Is this gpa suicide/does anyone have any experience with these courses and can speak to whether it’s possible.

Decided to switch to premed as a rising senior. Advice?

Hi everyone, I am currently a rising senior majoring in business at a private 4 year and decided this summer I want to go to med school after exploring the health field more. I’ve taken anatomy & physiology (at a state college) and chem 1 (at a community college) so far this summer and plan to take chem 2 at a community college for the next half of summer. I also plan to take a bulk of the prereqs at my 4 year since i only have 3 major required classes left. I want to preferably only take 1 gap year between post grad and med school, and I have a few questions.

Will having my chem sequence done at a cc look bad to med schools (especially top ones)?

What can I do to be more competitive/what should I immediately do now/once back on campus?

Will I have to do a formal post-bacc or is an informal one sufficient for my circumstance?

My plan for my last two semesters: Sem 1: -major required course -major required course (writing) -bio 1 -organic chem 1 (if i can get in ;-; otherwise physics 1)

Sem 2: -major required course -bio 2 -organic chem 2 (or physics 2) -psychology or sociology

Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you in advance🙏

Should I graduate college a semester early?

Hi everyone, I am a rising senior in college majoring in business (analytics and info systems). My school is considered a great program, but I don’t have any formal internship or work experience (haven’t been successful getting anything) which I know is terrible. I don’t particularly enjoy the tech heavy aspect my degree focus (not amazing at coding either) so marketing myself with my recent academic work limits me from many jobs.

Seeing how difficult the job market is I decided to consider going into nursing and am taking those prereq classes over the summer to apply to absn/mde programs in the fall and am doing well in them. I am more interested in the health field (business or clinical) and I think my business background could be a superpower.

I am now confronted with choosing to stay for full last year and switching to a corporate finance and analytics focus while trying to build my resume more and recruiting, OR saving money on rent and tuition by graduating early and jumping into the job market/potentially going to nursing school. I’d be applying to nursing school either way.

If I am being honest I’m seeing even my peers WITH internships struggle to get full time offers, and the entry level market seems so cooked. I know I am a smart and capable person and hate what feels like waiting for my life to start or for someone to just give me a chance.

Graduating a semester early or staying in college for the full 4 years? Hedging…

Advice for a rising senior in college? (non-science or premed)

Hi everyone, I am currently a rising senior in college majoring in business analytics and information systems (3.6 gpa). I had a realization last semester that I heavily disliked my major and wasn’t passionate about it enough to push myself to excel, and I couldn’t ignore anymore how much I felt out of place personality wise (which is crucial for networking/corporate politics). I also never felt challenged or stimulated in a way that played to my intellectual strengths.

I decided to pivot and go into healthcare. I know I am behind, so I’ve been considering nursing (absn). I am near completing two condensed courses in anatomy & physiology 1 and gen chem 1 at a local state college this summer, and am on track to get A’s in both. I loved anatomy and found it so interesting, and I was motivated because I felt like my understanding could have real impact.

As I end this session I can’t help but think I am selling myself short/settling by going into nursing. I also don’t know if I would like some of the direct patient care nurses do. Ideally I’d go into advanced nursing roles or use it as a stepping stone. The appeal of nursing over medicine is that i’d be making income faster. And of course, I still have my business degree so maybe I should try getting a job with that first?

I’m kind of all over the place but I guess I just want some clarity about the reality of my situation and some advice.

[US] Gave scammer a photo of my passport and verification selfies. They also have my phone number and emails

What should I do and what can happen?

For context I am a university student and was reached out to for a remote research assistant position offer. I replied to get the position. The “professor” started texting me which I thought was odd, but I am desperate for experience, so I thought it was normal. Initially I was required to go through an online verification screening (used drivers permit) through outlier.ai which seems to be a legit remote website and set up payment details through the website such as SSN for the W-2 and bank account information for direct deposit (I don’t think they have access to any of this). They sent me another verification via message separate from the platform and I used my passport and selfies to verify.

They used an edu email from my school to correspond as HR and sent me a check as reimbursement for office supplies and survey materials. I was dumb and ignored those glaring red flags and actually got to the store and purchased apple gift cards. Then they asked for the codes on the front of them and I figured out it was a scam and blocked them. Just froze my credit but what else should I do? Should I get a new passport? afraid what they can do with my selfies.

Edit: I never deposited the check or gave them the card codes. I also set up the payment for the remote job website outlier. ai through them, so they dont have my banking or ssn.

Need advice as a senior in college wanting to switch paths

Hi all, I am currently a rising senior at a 4 year uni majoring in business admin (concentrating in business analytics), and am trying to find a way out for a few reasons:

  1. I hate how nothing in the corporate world is merit-based and all about who you know than your credentials (as someone with a family with no connections)
  2. I’ve had difficulty getting any work experience or even finding internships, so I am scared for full time recruiting.
  3. the instability and potential of layoffs is unappealing
  4. I want a career that offers a flexible schedule or at least a job that ends strictly when I clock out.

For these reasons i’ve been considering pivoting to healthcare. Ik it’s a bit late and I have no experience shadowing or doing clinicals. I’ve been looking into absn programs and would have my business degree still since i’m a semester away from graduating and can get my prereqs mostly over summer. My family is from NY so it would be fairly easy for me to study and work at home. The only thing that concerns me with nursing is I am a bit more introverted and don’t know if I could handle some of the horror stories and abuse I hear nurses face in inpatient/bedside. I just need advice on what to do in my current situation

TLDR: senior in business wanting to pivot to healthcare
