Ape neurons

I used to have turbo'd Subaru Brz, I then drove a SpiritR Rx8 in Japan and it tingled my ape neurons in a way the Subaru never did, from that moment I wanted to sell my Brz and get an Rx8. I eventually did impulsively sell but ended up with a 2zz Celica for a few months as there were no decent Rx8's about. Went to view one this monday, as soon as I test drove I was sold so im probably gonna go get it on friday I cant wait. Rust isnt bad at all either

I plan to do some mods for longevity i.e coils, cofs/sohn, rad maybe decat etc.... The compression results from 08/08 were Front Rotor - 7.1 / 7.1 / 7.1 and Rear Rotor - 6.8 / 6.5 / 6.9, this is Ok for a while right? (Assuming good maintenance from myself)

Edit: UK if it makes a difference

Timing cover or tensioner leak

Seen oil all around the sump and the splash guard, drive shaft boot etc... im guessing this is either cover gasket or the tensioner o-ring

If im to get the cover gasket replaced what else is there to do whilst im assuming the engine is up or out?

Thanks

Oil Leak 2003 GTS

Found out ive got an oil leak somewhere, pictures aint great but its the right hand side of the engine. Its all over the undertray, sump and other bits as you can see.

Ive been checking oil regularly and its not really dropping substantially from what i can tell but il keep an eye on it. Had a brief look from above and couldnt see any oil near the top but il need to have a proper look.

Any ideas what might be the culprit?

Im about to order an o-ring for the chain tensioner anyway so if its just that then il have it ready.

Thanks

Click noise when I go past about 50% throttle.

Hi, I have 2003 2zz Celica ive been hearing a single click/tick noise usually when I accelerate slightly aggressively or give more than around half throttle it also clicks again when I let off the throttle.

When I have the windows down it sounds like its coming from the left front area of the car or possibly the engine bay.

Anyone have an inkling on what it could be?

Cooling system issues

2003 Celica T sport. Been getting fluid noises behind the dash. I just tried bleeding the coolant but the level never dropped. The temp gauge never reach the top line always the one below and when Im driving it is sometimes lower

First I was doing it with the bleeder and the resevoir cap both fully off, then with cap on and the bleeder unscrewed a bit but not all the way. Am I doing it wrong?

The fans would kick in and the level would drop slightly but by the time the fans went again itd be back where it was before.

zzt231 2nd hand mid-pipe, o2 sensors and gaskets

Hi, I have a 2003 Celica TS. The cat is rattling about in the exhaust and I think maybe causing the engine light to be on. Found a 2nd hand oem mid pipe on the bay, would it be worth getting new o2 sensors and donut gaskets?

Alignment questions

New owner here I have a few questions, went for an alignment but they couldnt do the rear as its all seized up, I assume they mean the adjuster bolts are stuck?

If so is it worth replacing the whole rear control arms or just the bolt? I can only seem to find oem control arms which go for around £330 each.

How much camber is normal on these in the rear cause I feel like 2° is alot?

Tia

Edit: 7th gen celica t sport

New Ts owner

Just bought a 2003 t sport with 132k miles for £3000 (did I get mugged?) Was a kind of impulsive purchase as I just needed to get something asap and saw this nearby, the battery was dead as it had been sitting for a while (last service was 2024 or 25) anyway I have a new battery on the way. Could really see any rust on the outside of the arches, had a brief look underneath but didnt look too bad either but I will get it on a lift at some point to have a better look. Decent service history only missing 1 or 2 years.

Suspension felt normal no weird noises from it but might need an alignment as the steering wheel was slightly out unless i was just imagining it.

Brakes felt pretty spongey so probably gonna just flush the fluid and maybe fit some new lines as the oem will be 23 years old.

Gonna have a look at doing the lifter bolts too(seemed easy enough from the video i saw)

Oil change etc...

Got a rattly heat shield im guessing, is this common? It sounds pretty embarrassing tbh

Anything else I should look at?

As i say it had a decent service history with quite alot being main dealer so it seems like its been looked after ok. And no obvious rust on the outside at least.

Gotta sell my turbo brz unfortunately has some damage, was thinking around £8k-£9k? but im not sure. Id expect an undamaged one to go for about £12k or more depending on mileage.

What do you guys/girls think?

Thanks
