do any of you sometimes want a partner even though you usually don't?

im not sure how to word it in the title without making it overly long, but i have this weird thought process occasionally where i basically think that it would be nice to have a partner, then i immediately go back to not wanting one, and then i immediately do want one again

i usually never care about being in a relationship so im mildly interested in why this keeps popping up/if anyone else has a similar experience

how good/viable is conqueror nowadays?

i recently reinstalled and was considering moving onto a new character but conqueror apparently was in a bad spot last time i played, how does he hold up now?
