NYL Training Camp Attendee Ny'Ceara Prior to enter NCAA portal

In light of the recent NCAA eligibility ruling, Liberty training camp attendee Ny'Ceara Prior is entering the transfer portal. The 5'3 point guard averaged 16.3 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 7 assists per game in her last collegiate season at Texas A&M. Currently, Prior is playing in the Upshot league, where she's averaging 5.2/3.1/1.2.

You may also remember 5'3 Prior comprising half of the WNBA's tallest/shortest duo from this preseason alongside 6'11 Han Xu. Prior is the second 2026 training camp attendee to attempt a return to college, after Bella Fontleroy announced her intention to enter the portal yesterday.

Betnijah Laney-Hamilton's future with the Liberty

https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7430885/2026/07/08/betnijah-laney-hamilton-new-york-liberty-trade-role/

Really insightful article from Annie Costabile regarding BLH's recent struggles and potential future with the Liberty. The pictured clip is probably the most interesting part considering BLH has recently fallen largely out of the rotation despite injuries to key stars like Satou Sabally. The other quote that stood out was BLH on her recent DNPs:

"'As a competitor, as somebody who’s worked really hard, as somebody who’s been a part of the organization for a long time, it can sometimes be disappointing and frustrating,” Laney-Hamilton said Tuesday before going scoreless in 15 minutes of the Liberty’s 88-77 loss to the Dallas Wings. “But, you know, that’s also part of the process.'"

Wilberforce HC Dr. Morgan Byrd Resigns

Over the last two seasons, Wilberforce has been the lowest-ranked team in the country by a fairly wide margin. Assistant coach Alaska Richardson is reportedly taking over for Byrd for the 2027 season.

Though the timelines are different, a similar situation happened with Corrinne Tarver over at Fisk before it was announced that the program was getting cut. Is this coaching change simply a redirection, or is this the beginning of the end for Wilberforce?
