Freelancing in India for a US client, what should I do about taxes?

I'm based in India and freelancing is my only source of income.

I'm a software developer/programmer and recently started working as an independent contractor for a US company at $12.50/hour. I expect the work to continue long-term.

This year I've already made over ₹1.5 lakh from freelancing, with income coming from a combination of Upwork, Fiverr, and direct clients. The direct payments are through UPI/bank transfers, not physical cash.

I'm trying to understand what I should be doing regarding:

  • Income tax / advance tax
  • Whether 44ADA applies to software development
  • GST, especially since the main client is in the US
  • Whether this counts as export of services
  • What records/invoices I should maintain

If anyone here is a freelancer/software developer in India working with foreign clients, what should I be doing now to stay compliant and avoid problems later?

Would appreciate practical advice from people who have actually dealt with this.

Thanks!

Could I have approached this better, or was it always going to be a no?

I recently went to a hospital for a checkup and the intern who examined me was really beautiful. I wanted to ask for her number that day, but we barely had any conversation outside of the checkup, so I chickened out.

A few days later, I went back with my friend for his appointment. While he was inside with the doctor, I was just waiting outside. Her department was different, but on the same floor. By coincidence, I saw her walking alone in the corridor. There was no one else around us, so I called out, "Excuse me."

She stopped and waited.

Me: "Hey, good morning."

Her: "Good morning, sir."

I made some small talk about my previous checkup and asked a couple of random questions. She answered everything, and we talked for about 2 to 3 minutes.

Then I said, "If you don't mind, can I get your number?" I don't use Instagram, so I just asked for her number. I also didn't want to ask for something like LinkedIn since that felt even weirder.

She replied, "Sorry, we're not allowed, sir."

I jokingly said, "Who's gonna snitch?" I regret saying that.

She looked more confused than anything, like she didn't hear or understand what I said, and just replied, "Sorry."

I smiled and said, "Never mind, thank you," and walked away. She gave me a small smile as I left.

Looking back, how could I have handled this better? Was asking for her number okay, or should I have done something differently?

Also, my friend has another appointment soon and asked me to come with him again. If I go and happen to see her, should I just ignore her and let it be, or would it be normal to just smile and say "Hi" if we make eye contact?

I'm stuck here on Price Of Persia Warrior Within

Reference
I'm unable to wall run and grab it but in the gameplay walkthrough the guy does that easily. Is this some glitch? does anyone know how to fix this.

Thanks!

Edit: Fixed! capped my fps to 59fps as suggested in the replies. Thanks a lot!

Is 1.5 scoops each of yeast protein isolate and pea protein isolate too much? (65 kg)

I'm around 65 kg (143 lbs).

I have:

  • Yeast protein isolate: 27 g protein per scoop
  • Pea protein isolate: 29 g protein per scoop

I'm currently taking 1.5 scoops of each per day, which would give me around 84 g of protein from supplements alone.

The rest of my protein comes from regular food.

Does this sound reasonable for someone my weight? Has anyone here used a combination of yeast protein isolate and pea protein isolate long term? Any issues with digestion, amino acid balance, or anything else I should be aware of?

Strength + Half Marathon: Best Gym Routine for Strength and an Athletic Physique?

Hey everyone,

I'm looking for advice on a gym routine that fits my goals.

I'm currently training for a half marathon and run 3 times a week, with Sunday as my rest day. My main goal is to get stronger while also building a lean, athletic physique. I do care about looking good, but I'm not trying to get huge or train like a bodybuilder or strongman.

I'm a beginner to strength training and have access to a gym.

My goals are:

  • Increase overall strength
  • Build some muscle, especially upper body
  • Support my running and reduce injury risk
  • Balance strength and endurance without one hurting the other

Would you recommend 2 or 3 strength sessions per week? Are there any proven routines that work well alongside half marathon training? Also, what sets/reps would you use to build strength while still gaining some muscle?

I'd really appreciate any advice or routines that have worked for you. Thanks!
