Cleaned cream Nubuck leather Birks with Jason Mark cleaner…now it’s discolored. What do I do?

I have cream Nubuck leather Birks that got dirt on them. My mom got this cleaner that is supposed to be suitable for a lot of shoes and so I decided to use it on my dirty Birkenstock. Well now where I cleaned my shoe is hard and yellow. I have tried using a baking soda paste that did nothing to fix it and I am so pissed bc the discoloration is so obvious.

Any ways to remedy the issue?

TMJ pain for 4 years…have done various treatments to no avail. Is MRI needed?

In 2022, I got sudden onset symptoms of debilitating TMJ after some routine dental surgeries (wisdom teeth removal and tongue tie release). Though my TMJ symptoms have improved a bit, they are still very present. Eustachian tube dysfunction, sub occipital pain, neck pain, jaw opens/swings to the right and then back when I yawn. Left side is worse than right side. I was told I have a very small palate and in order to get a revision on my tongue tie, I’d have to do palate expansion. So I did and I did expand a good amount but throughout expansion and even now that I am in Invisalign, my symptoms have persisted.

My orthodontist said I have some compression and flattening of the condyles and I have done several CBCTs. At my old TMJ clinic a few years ago, I am pretty sure they said I do not have disc displacement. I am so worried that I have arthritis or disc displacement and that Invisalign and a tongue tie release and myofunctional therapy won’t fix my TMJ.

When is an mri really needed? It’s the price that scares me. Has anyone done a tongue tie release and therapy and had it cure your symptoms? I also have a pretty bad deviated septum and enlarged turbinates—should I do the nasal surgeries first or the TT release and myo first?

My twin sister has TMJ issues and had it long before me and she is saying that I wouldn’t get much out of an MRI and that orthodontists try to prey on people being worried. She works in healthcare and says it’ll be more than what insurance tells you it’ll cost.

TMJ and airway issues that are ongoing…not sure what next step to take?

Long story short, I got wisdom teeth removed and a tongue tie release done by the same surgeon in 2022. Horrible complications that led to TMJ issues but I already had poor sleep and breathing, this all made it worse. I got MARPE in October 2024, got it removed in April 2026, and now have been in Invisalign since July 2025. I feel like Invisalign is making 0 difference. When I open my mouth wide, my jaw slides to the side and opens unevenly. My jaw, especially the left, always had dull pain and feels tight. With my tongue, the frenulum reattached bc the surgeon never had me do myofunctional therapy. Even now 4 years later, I don’t know how much of my jaw instability and issues are because of the tongue or if it’s disc displacement or arthritis.

I am seeing my ortho tomorrow and sent them a long email notifying them that symptoms aren’t improving and I am now in a bit of a time crunch bc I have a full time job and will be starting a PT grad program this year. On top of all this, I saw a new ENT after having an awful sinus infection and not only do I have a pretty bad deviated septum, I also have nasal valve collapse (genetic the ENT said) and enlarged turbinates. 😓

Between all this Invisalign stuff, needing to start myo to do another tongue tie release, and the nose stuff, I am so overwhelmed—it’s been 4 years of suffering and I am still nowhere near healed. My parents paid for my MARPE and I never talk about how bad things are bc I know they’ll say “what did we pay $10k for this expansion stuff? How is Invisalign not doing anything?” My ortho said I can do an mri but I am now so stressed. I live at home and I am scared about what my family will say—they def won’t be happy if I need nose surgery, jaw surgery, and tongue surgery. My job is not high paying either which is why I even still live at home.

What to do about loud neighbors in Potomac, MD

We live in Potomac in a neighborhood that formally doesn’t have an HOA but it might as well because there’s a handbook of rules. We have two big dogs that are reactive and shortly after moving in, a neighbor who lives on a street perpendicular to us marched over to our home and complained about our dogs. Our dogs had not been barking for more than 2 minutes. We thought it was so aggressive and honestly a little insane to bark over dogs barking for only a couple of minutes. One of the rules is they can’t bark for more than 2 minutes which is….a little nuts.

The people who complained are always in their backyard talking so loudly that it is bothersome when we sit on our back porch. It seems so hypocritical to complain about others’ noise when they are the only ones who ever make noise! There is an email forum for our neighborhood but we don’t have to make an enemy out of this family. What can we do about their noise?

Any social clubs/groups for 20 somethings in North Bethesda/Rockville?

I am 25 and will be living at home for the foreseeable future. I’ve made a couple of friends in the area but I really would love to make more, even from shared interests!

Some things about me:

- I enjoy reading thrillers
- I enjoy baking/cooking
- I love going for long walks along the C+O canal and I’ve started getting into jogging (any beginner run clubs??)

Most 20 somethings live in DC or NOVA and it can feel like a trek sometimes to get out there. I really would like more friends but also with work and my commute, it makes it hard to attend the weekday happy hour events I see around.

Any running clubs or tennis classes for 20 somethings?

Hi girls!!

I am 25 and live in the Rockville area and I really want to get into running but in a beginner-friendly yet social way. Any clubs you recommend?

Also interested in tennis but I’d love a beginner friendly club or group lessons?

Also, is the discord for women in the DMV still active? It’s not working for me anymore :/

I got a tongue tie release and wisdom teeth removal in 2022 and wasn’t told to do myo therapy so the surgery was not successful. Led to me developing a slew of issues. It’s been 4 years and I have TMJD, sore throat, tight throat, post nasal drip, a deviated septum (an issue even before). I finished doing MARPE to widen my palate so that I can re-do the tongue tie release but I am wondering how many of my symptoms it will improve? The post nasal drip drives me nuts! I definitely did not have it before and I don’t know how much of it is related to my deviated septum or my poor tongue posture.

If you cured similar symptoms, how did you do it?
