Possible WW1 trench art - wooden box with Ottoman Turkish script

Hi all, looking for any potential information or ideas about this wooden box, which I was given as a gift. I was told it was likely carved by an Ottoman soldier in a POW camp.

Looking for any help translating the message on the bottom, or if anyone has similar authenticated pieces, would be curious to know where they are from!

On the inside of the piece, “E.R.” is written in pencil, and then a few letters which could be ADMN. Any ideas about that?

Help translating WW1 item?

I was given this box as a gift and told it was carved by an Ottoman soldier during WW1. Can anyone help me translate? Or are there any signs in the language that might dispel that idea? Thank you!

Still itchy and dry, days after finishing metrogel - anyone else?

Hi all, wondering if anyone else experienced this.

I used the 5 day metrogel (metronidazole, specifically the brand name Nidagel). Beforehand, my symptoms had only been itching and dryness.

My symptoms improved on day 2 of the gel. But the itching and dryness came back on day 5 or so, and I’m still feeling them now, 3 days after having finished the course. Specifically, my vagina does not feel naturally lubricated like it usually does - instead it feels kinda tacky almost, how it did before I started the medication.

My only other symptom is that I’m having the tissue-like white stuff that I’ve seen discussed by others as potentially the medication or epithelial cells being sloughed off.

I talked to my doctor and she recommended that I immediately start on the oral version of the antibiotic, so I picked those up. But I would rather not jump right into another round as I’ve heard the oral one has a ton of side effects.

Has anyone else had dryness or itching several days out from having taking metrogel that cleared up on its own? Could this just be the gel still working its way out of my system?

Thank you!

How do I cut/ sew this dart inside a dart?

Is the inside (smaller) one to cut out, and then the outside one to follow when I sew the dart? The pattern instructions just saw to “stitch darts.”

Also, any tips on sewing this wonky, not-straight dart?

I’ll be visiting for a week in May for a wedding. I’m flying from North America to Scotland with a major carrier, then from Newcastle airport to Dublin with a budget airline, then back to North America from Dublin with the same major carrier three days later.

I booked all of this before the concern about fuel, and now I fear that my budget flight - not on a busy route and with only a few seats sold, according to the seat selection map - may be cancelled.

My fear is that I will not be able to get from northern England to Ireland in time for my flight back to NA.

Are there lots of flights between UK airports and Dublin that make it likely I can find an alternative should the budget airline rebook me? And what are the possibilities otherwise - should I consider trying to get a ferry, or booking a backup flight ahead of time?

Thank you.

Ryanair said it has cut 10 per cent of all flights to and from Dublin this summer. Has anyone with a flight to/from Dublin had theirs cancelled? Could it be flights that weren’t yet booked?

I currently have a one-way flight scheduled in late May from Newcastle to Dublin. A little concerned as I have a flight back to North America with another airline two days later.
