community/noise-share/feedback thread

hi everyone,

i posted about this a few days ago to see if anyone would be interested and it seemed like some people were into it so I figured we'd just see how it goes! for more context and some thoughts on the topic here's the original post:

https://www.reddit.com/r/noisemusic/s/qTGfNkcEw6

basically feel free to share whatever you'd like below!! I just thought it might be fun to have a space for more casual self-promotions and discussion for people who are interested in sharing their work, checking out what other people are doing, and maybe getting/giving feedback or connecting with other artists/noise-makers! obviously we can all self-promote on the main thread but maybe there will be value in having our own little thread for us self-promoters to engage with each others stuff a little more actively. if people like it maybe it can become a regular thing. i'll post something below in a little bit too.

anyone interested in doing a somewhat regular "community thread" type thing?

If anyone's familiar with the Ambient sub's "community thread" that is kind of what I mean- a place for artists, especially but not necessarily relative beginners to noise, to share their stuff, get and give feedback. I feel like having some sort of dedicated space for all those self-promotions that are bound to otherwise get very little notice might be cool. I tend to agree with the "only feedback that matters is your own" sentiment, but either way it's fun to get to talk about our own and each other's stuff--especially for people who are otherwise not plugged into a real world scene. I saw the other post by someone looking to start an online collective--stuff like that is awesome too but I thought I'd throw this out there as something similar but maybe a little looser-- just an occasional thread where there is somewhat of an implied expectation of reciprocity, i.e. if you're sharing your own stuff you should check out some other people's stuff! Would people be interested in something like this?

Dreamcrusher interview

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=sYBBuSwtsbQ&t=2052s&pp=2AGEEJACAQ%3D%3D&ra=m

just finished this interview and really enjoyed it! i'm sure a lot of you have seen it but if not it's worth checking out. they seem like such a sweet and chill person. they talk about their life as an artist/what the music landscape is like, social media, their influences from noise and otherwise, their approach to graphic design, movies, etc.

they shout out a lot of other artists which is cool, i will be trying to check some of them out: mirrored fatality, machine girl, kill alters, helltech, prolapse, and a couple others at least- does anyone know who they'd be referring to with "coin" and "ruggy rugs?"

collage recommendations

hi everyone! i'm looking for noise collage recommendations! i assume there are a ton out there who work in this vein, obviously Merzbow comes to mind with recording a bunch of material then cutting/splicing etc. any other major artists or classic albums i should check out? besides merzbow i love some other japanoise stuff- haino, some CCCC, kazumoto endo, and i'm also familiar with some classic music concrete stuff or things more from the classical world- pierre schaeffer, luc ferrari, etc...

anyways, thanks in advance if you can give me some suggestions of albums or artists with a "collage" based approach! and also feel free to share your own work if applicable!

EDIT: Thank you everyone for the recommendations and feel free to keep them coming if you see this later-- I'm excited to check some of these things out!

Some noisy/shoegazy digital piano

hello everyone!! i'm curious what people think of this- it's definitely not noise exactly/ is maybe a bit more on the noisy musical/ambient adjacent side of things + aspect of free improvisation- influenced to some extent by Keiji Haino, doom metal, Hindustani music, jazz, etc.

Thanks in advance to anyone who gives some of this a listen!
