This article recaps the press conference. I can't find any video of it yet, but I'm sure it will be uploaded at some point.

García is playing, so that's a good sign.
Lejuene is not starting, which seems fair. Lol.

The thing I didn't like this time last season was that we didn't entirely control our own fate. We drew nil-all, so only got to where we were because of another game's results.
I'm hoping for a win here so that even if Getafe win, we did everything we could.
(I mean, yes, could have won other games during the season, but you get my point. Lol.)

19:44 - Nteka did get to that ball first, but I guess the goalkeeper is the goalkeeper.

26:40 - I liked Valentin's little "step away from the referee" hand on the chest there.

30:53 - lol on the water break while Iñigo is talking to others, Batalla's doing his own coaching (mostly of Gumbau).

32:12 - what a save by Cárdenas .

37:24 - Martin is coming off for Camello. Martin is not happy and is going straight down the tunnel.

39:31 - It was Mumin that gave Cárdenas a shoulder to the face.

41:12 - in credit to Gumbau, he has been close to scoring twice.

41:51 - Martin just came back out to sit on the bench.

42:25 - Aw, Martin is crying and Trejo is doing his Trejo thing reassuring him. God damn it, Trejo, you fucking treasure of a man.

44:59 - again, Gumbau with an almost goal. (Nteka did well getting the ball to him.)

46:24 - yeah, Camello, good defending and teamwork with Espino.

48 - lol Batalla stood up to do his own coaching just behind Iñigo. Odd of him getting a yellow on the bench this game as well?

49 - He's working hard, Camello is.

The half time sub is García coming off for De Frutos.

48:11 - I think I might underestimate Isi's impact, or take it for granted a little. I was just thinking we could really use him now.

53:02 - yellow card to Camello for pulling.

57:20 - In a confusing visual, there's a fan in an Alavès jersey holding up a Rayo scarf. The commentators are now commenting on how fans of both are sitting together amicably, with Rayo fans scattered throughout.

58:25 - phew, Mendy, thank you, I could breathe out.

59:15 - SOMEONE CLEAR THAT. Good work by Cárdenas.

60:42 - Valentin and Mumin (which I was expecting earlier, to be honest) are off for Alemão and Ciss.

63:51 - yellow card for Ciss for pushing.

Getafe scored just before that, so unless us and Osasuna both score two goals in the next half hour, we're not getting to seventh.

67:08 - some hope from Alemão there.

72:49 - Camello, CAMELLO! Excellent.

87:21 - Ratiu's on for Balliu.

89:50 - Yes! Nteka. Got into a good position for Camello to pass him the ball, after Diaz passed it to him.

93:49 - yellow to Espino (not sure why).

94:35 - Mendy's been great this game.

Camello says "we did what we had to do, which is win, and now we're depending on the other result... we're so excited (for the final) but at the same time we don't want it to finish."
He also talked about the players helping the fans that got scammed with tickets (for the game, and buses to the game), and said they're looking forward to seeing the fans there.

Final 2025/26 Table Watch - 8th.
We have just witnessed Rayo finishing 8th in the league two seasons in a row.

Well everyone, get ready to get emotional.

At least getting into the Conference League Final makes this a happier occasion than it would have been otherwise.

I wonder what the coaches are saying to each other, given the possibilities of next season.

5:47 - our players are turning over possession a bit, except for Lejuene. Lol. But after him going to ground twice last game I'm now extra nervous each time he's in a contest with an opposition player.

8:00 - it's the Trejo tribute, with everyone holding up placards.

13:12 - there's also extra applause every time Trejo touches the ball.

14:09 - there are 30-40 Villareal fans here, apparently. (And yup, the away block is over half empty.)

17:25 - this is the third time so far this game that the commentators have spent several sentences praising Lejuene.

22:29 - Camello on another run. (I praised him before for being able to get into that position.)

27:36 - Yes! Camello! (Assist from Ratiu.)

Scoreboard is of course still not fixed.

34:57 - ahaha that wasn't going in, Lejeune.

The on screen clock has stopped at 34:58.

39:30 - clock's restarted again, in time for me to say Trejo set Camello up well there.

The clock's disappeared altogether now, but they're once again praising Lejeune. Lol.

Oh, we're the third lowest scoring side in La Liga.

I just checked their schedule and it's not on there. They have the Europa League Final and of course the Champions League Final, but there's a gap between May 24th and 31st.

(The Woodvale Tavern showed it last year, but doesn't look like they are this year, probably because it's at 3am.)

I will contact them but figured I'd ask here first in case someone who knows happens to see. Lol.
