So uh... whaddo I do?

First game, I somewhat easily eliminated the Necrons at the start, then encountered the Orks. I thought, this will be easy as I charged my full army into a few unit's of theirs. They are doing upwards of 20 damage per shot while I'm lucky if I get 6. I've lost probably 15 units over the last 20 turns and taken out maybe three of theirs. WHAT DO I DO HELNP

Best Real Solar System (but Kerbal Scale) Mod

I’m going to university (ahhhhh) in the fall and one of my courses is on the sky and planets using the school telescope! I’d like to start playing KSP in the real solar system now so that I can learn about all the various celestial bodies before I go. However I am not absolutely insane, so I would like to keep it Kerbal scale. What mod would you recommend for this? Thanks guys!
