Yap: Started watching anime again after a very long time

Hey everyone, new to this sub but we need a flair for yapping I think 🤭

I grew up watching Baby Baa Chan, Captain Tsubasa, Detective School Q etc on Animax. The last animated series I watched was Bakugan Battle Brawlers and then I didn’t want any anime/cartoons till I joined college and pirated some classics like Samurai Jack and Ed Edd n Eddy. A friend introduced me to Death Note and I watched a couple of more series popular at the time like One Punch Man, Gintama, and Tokyo Ghoul. Then that interest died out until last week when the anime bug bit me again and I’ve watched Solo Leveling, Mashle and Dan Da Dan so far.

And my god, the level of animation has skyrocketed since Animax (2004) to my college days (2014) to present day. Literally every decade, the art form has seen some insane transformation.

After watching a few series again I can understand why no live action remake can ever match the spirit of an original anime. The art form, storytelling style, the voice acting, level of visual detail, is all radically different that live action will always pale in comparison. But the other way round will always be amazing when done right. Just imagine a Chak De India or a Dhurandhar in anime form, it’ll absolutely slap.

Anyway, this ramble of a post is to just say that watching anime again has made me very happy (I’ve been sad otherwise lately) and I’m open to any recommendations beyond the extremely popular ones like One Piece, Bleach etc. I enjoy all genres but I particularly like comedy, shonen action, power fantasy, thriller, a little bit more.

Just finished Succession. I’m heartbroken

What a piece of work. Fantastic writing, production, casting, music, everything.

The ending was perfect. Perfect but heartbreaking because I am Team Kendall through and through (judge me all you want). It’s heartbreaking in the same way Walter White dies at the end of Breaking Bad — heartbreaking but phenomenal ending.

Everytime I’d see Shiv on screen my blood would boil cause what an absolute manipulative, snake she was. Such wonderful acting by Sarah Snook. It’s sad that the whole world quietly, and sometimes loudly sidelined her because she’s a woman, but she was never the one to back down and always found her own twisty ways to get what she wanted. And failed every time.

Tom and Greg would truly suck the biggest dick in the room if it would serve their interests. Such cockroaches, and rightfully they won (kinda) in the end. Because these people always win, to the public. People wielding real power are anyway always behind the scenes pulling the strings.

I’ll update this thread with more thoughts as they crystallise in my head I guess.

Edit:
Addendum: these were all horrible people and did not really deserve a happy ending if you look at them objectively as people in the real world we live in. But this wasn’t real world, it was a fictional one, full of assholes, and in that world, Kendall was my favourite asshole.

Looking for a cook in Sector-45, any leads appreciated

Hey everyone! I moved to GGN a couple of months back and I am looking for a cook and house help. I would prefer 2 different people for both these tasks as from past experience when one person is doing both there is too much kaamchori.

For context, I hired a cook when I moved here. I live with a flatmate and she charged 6k to make food twice a day and do the dishes for us. She didn’t show up half the time and would be absent without informing us as well. When we asked her for someone for sweeping and mopping she said she’d do it herself for another 1500 per month. And she never did it unless asked, but promptly asked us to pay the extra on payday. We were mostly not at home when she came to cook and clean so she’d just half ass the whole thing and go. The experience was terrible and we had to part ways with her. Her cooking was anyway terrible and she had no interest in working.

I have no qualms in paying these people what they ask, they absolutely deserve it, all I want is reliable and good service.

If you guys can recommend someone in and around Sector-45 it would be deeply appreciated. It would be preferred if the person can also cook non-veg but that’s not a deal breaker. First priority is cook but we also need a house help, so any leads for that would also be really helpful.

Thanks in advance! ❤️
