Built my first side project

I wanted to build something outside of assignments. I had a few ideas but the idea of ranking linkedin seemed most interesting to me. It started with me thinking how could I see profiles better than me and learn from them. At the same time, I didn't want it to be boring and wanted some fun element to it. So, the idea of gamifying linkedin accounts came.

I built this using react and hosted it on vercel. to keep track of ranks, chess style elo seemed to be a simple choice. I used supabase to set up the backend. For frontend, I am not good at UI and design, so I went to claude.

This has been fun until now building it and sharing it on reddit and other places. I got hold of a bug yesterday where newer ids were repeatedly showing up for matches (some oversight on my queries). An addition people suggested: showing reasons why your id ranks that way (what could be done to make it better) - I have no idea how to add that idea as a feature yet but still brainstorming.

It would be nice if any of you could try the project out and share anything (how it works, what could be better, etc...). see it for yourselves:

Built my first side project

Hi everyone! I am in my final year and always wanted to build something outside of usual assignments. I will be very happy if you could try it out, comment on it and share feedback.

The idea is to gamify linkedin accounts and let people choose the better one. It is all for fun and games. I used React with Supbasae and Next.js integration and hosted the project on vercel. Please give it a spin and share what you think.

Hi everyone! I am in my final year and always wanted to build something outside of usual assignments. I have a Notion page of ideas from which some became Github repos but this one I think made to some level that I would like to share and see people's reactions. I will be very happy if you could try it out, comment on it and share feedback.

Built my first side project, check it outtt!!!!

Hey guys, so I built this project which is a peer ranking of linkedin accounts as a fun game. You can sign up easily and I think the usecase is intuitive but would love for you to try it out and share your thoughts. Would be grateful if you try it out by logging in (its not much without some people trying it out)

Built my first side project — a peer ranking web app

Hey everyone, I built my first side project outside college assignments and wanted to share it here.

It’s called Peer Ranked — a simple web app for creating fun ranking/comparison lists. I’m still experimenting with the idea, so I’d love feedback from other BTech/CS people.

Mainly looking for thoughts on:

  • whether the idea is clear
  • if the UI/flow feels smooth
  • what features are missing
  • any bugs or suggestions

Link: https://peer-ranked.vercel.app/

Not trying to spam/promote, just trying to improve it and learn from feedback.

I built it using React with Supabase. Used claude for the ui and the gsap animation
