Hemorroids to colonoscopy…

Hi everyone - 33F, just gave birth 6.5 months ago, live a pretty healthy lifestyle (workout 3x a week, non smoker, etc.).

At 6 weeks PP i have a little blood in my bowel movement - last only 1-2 days was very little so I chalked it up to PP and getting back to workouts. Now at 6.5 months PP about a week ago I started having blood in my bowel movements (it was after three days of constipation, to be fair) lasting up to a week - only when I had bowel movements, bright red blood, one or twice made the toilet water red and on the toilet paper. I started using the Prep H suppositories and the bleeding stopped after 1.5 days of using them. Anus area is a little tender, I think I can feel little external hems but no crazy pain or any other symptoms.

Went to doctor of course, and he scheduled me for a colonoscopy to be on the safe side. I’m nervous, what if it’s something bad - has anyone had any experience with something like this? No history of colon cancer but very nervous and looking to connect on this. Thank you in advance!

Right Thigh Numb - 6.5 months post birth

Hi everyone - looking to see if anyone had this experience. My right thigh (starting in the middle of the thigh to the outer part and length is right middle part of my thigh stopping right before my knee) has been numb since I have birth and it’s been 6.5 months.

For background, I got an epidural and she overloaded me I mean at one point I couldn’t feel up to my neck and didn’t feel a THING during my labor. Had spinal headaches a week later too and ended up back at the hospital which eventually went away.

The good news? It’s not hindering any movement but it’s just weird and gives me anxiety because I know it’s not normal. Do I just wait it out and remind myself nerves heal very slowly?

Any thoughts is greatly appreciate!

Private schools

Hi everyone - can someone shed light on top private schools in Broward and what the waitlists look like? For example, for the top two schools like PineCrest and American Heritage if you’re putting your kids in 1st are they likely getting in? How long can you wait to put them in and be confident your odds are decent?

St Thomas I like the idea of but bummer it doesn’t start until 9th grade - it is nice them staying in the same community 1st-12th. Is entry almost a given at schools like st thomas, Westminster, etc?

Thank you in advance! :)

Best family neighborhood

Hi everyone - curious your opinions on the best family friendly neighborhood in fort Lauderdale - I am looking for a good amount of young families, safe, kids outside on the weekend riding their bikes with other neighborhood kids, popping during Halloween, etc. that kind of vibe. My husband and I have a baby and are pregnant with #2.

I’ve seen coral ridge, sailboat bend? I like Victoria park and Rio vista but not crazy about lot sizes and heard there a lot of petty crime in VP.

Totally open to suggestion from people who really know, we are new on the family friendly scene, ha! Pretend budget is not too much of an issue and likely will be sending our kids to private school regardless, curious on just the best family friendly.

EDIT: Before you say things like don’t move here l’ve been here for over decade and my husband is born and raised in FLL****** I am just looking for opinions from MY NEIGHBORS as I’m navigating being a first time mom and my priorities are changing. Annoying I have to clarify that but there you go! Thank you to everyone who are lovely though and have been super helpful.

17 weeks - when to start sleep training?

Hi everyone - first time poster but have been lurking this thread for a long time so thank you in advance for how thoughtful and informative this community is!

For background, LO is 17 weeks, he was sleeping through the night for a few weeks around 3 months and as we got to the 4 month mark he goes down at 7:30 PM, wakes up for a bottle at 3 AM and then back down until 7 am or so. I’ve read a lot stories in this thread I feel like we have it pretty good and I recognize that.

My question is - do I start a more formal some type of cry it out sleeping training soon to try to get him to drop the 3 am feed? Is he doing pretty good do I save us the heartache of crying it out and just give him more time to naturally drop it on his own?

Currently we have the bed time routine we’ve been militant about, crib naps (how long he naps is hit or miss but that’s a story for another day), and he is fully sleeping in his crib at night. We will let him FIO for 5-10 minutes at 3 am but it almost always results in us going in. He is doing about 25-28 oz a day. Over the last week we’ve been putting him down slightly drowsy for nighttime and he goes to bed on his own.

What do we think? How do I get him to drop the 3 am feed? Thank you in advance!

Best neighborhood in SoFlo??

If you had a family with three younger children and have a budget of around $3.5M where is the best neighborhood to buy a home from Jupiter to Coral Gables?

Looking for very family oriented, safe, lots of kids and access to good schools (private or public). We are looking for a community to surround ourselves with.

All thoughts are welcome!
