found a single bed bug and shed skin

so i moved into this brand new luxury apartment building about 5 days ago. i have never had bed bugs before in my life. i went to go take a nap this afternoon and saw a tiny speck on my headboard. i got it off with tape because i was scared it was a bed bug and sure enough. it wasn’t even 5 mm, maybe 2 mm and shed skin next to it. long story short, i disconnected the headboard and threw it out after covering it in plastic. washing and drying all of my bedding on hot. went to walmart and bought a zip up mattress cover. my bed is upholstered so the bottom is fabric as well, but i checked that and the mattress thoroughly and there was nothing. i covered my mattress during my move but my headboard was the only part that was uncovered during the moving process. my bed is about 6 feet from my closet. i work in healthcare and everyone knows our biggest fear is bedbugs and im quite literally freaking out. i have no bites myself. i ordered traps on amazon to lift my bed up on that will get here tmr. is there anything else i should be doing? do i need to wash all of my clothing? throw out the rest of my bedframe? thank you in advance for the advice.

EOC in 11 days

I am wondering about how people have studied for the EOC and what outcomes they've gotten.

I got a 423 on IM, 404 on FM, 411 on peds, 412 gen surg, 417 women's health, 500 on EM. PAEA logged me out at least 20 times for my FM EORE, so I think that was a bit of an outlier.

I got a 160 on my PACKRAT. I was going through some stuff and did not study for 3 weeks before that.

I'm very nervous because I have an amazing job lined up but have been struggling with motivation and my mental health recently.

I've been using SMARTYPANCE and a bit of blueprint up until this point. Financially I cannot afford to buy any more prep. I do have PANCE prep pearls as well. I would appreciate input on anyone else's experience and/or pointers. Thank you :)

tall and curvy

hi everyone. i’m 24F struggling with clothing as i step into real adulthood. i’m graduating with my masters in a few months and am doing a huge perge of my closet. i’m getting rid of almost everything i haven’t worn in the last year to make space for more intentional items when i can afford higher quality pieces in a few months. it feels like nothing fits right. i only really feel comfortable in sweats or athletic/workout clothing.

i’m 6’0” about 195 lbs. i’m a 34D, 32 waist, 46 hips. i have a pretty average sized torso as in i don’t need tall items to fit. it is rare that i can get anything to fit me right. i have had luck with one aritzia dress that fits beautifully. i know about american tall (where i get my business casual pants and sweats), skydolls, tall lines at abercrombie and old navy. but i was wondering if anyone had any recommendations. i like the 90s elegant, timeless vibe and don’t mind spending a little more money. thank you in advance!

creepy preceptor

i’m wondering if anyone else has dealt with something similar. i was having a really good experience on this rotation and had just finished a procedure and my preceptor was writing my name into the EMR. he had spelled my last name at least 20 times at this point. my last name starts with a “B” and he pointed to what he wrote and it was my first name and then “Boner” for my last name. he was laughing and thought it was funny but i was too stunned to speak because i hadn’t gotten any vibes like that from this guy at all. anyways pretty much ruined my experience with him and it made me really uncomfortable for the rest of the rotation on top of sexual harassment from the patients.

upstate NY new grad hospitalist physician assistant position

I want to talk this over with some PAs because I feel like I can't talk this over with classmates due to competitiveness. I graduate from my program in August, take my PANCE August 31st. I interviewed for a hospitalist position on Tuesday and got great vibes from the chief, they're used to taking new grads and have a 12 week training period and require you to discuss admissions with an attending for the first year. Had lunch with some of the team and they were all friendly, asking about my experience and telling me it's a learning curve because there is so much to hospital medicine but you can just tap on someones shoulder and ask questions anytime. Overall great vibes. I got an email from the manager yesterday that I would be receiving an offer letter within the next 2 weeks and received it today.

The position itself is as close to a dream as I could get as a new grad. It is a weekend track position (3 12s) with 4 weekends PTO per year plus a 5th for CME. Base salary is $141,000. $5,000 starting bonus and a potential to earn up to $9,500 in quality incentive bonuses. There's always opportunities to work extra shifts and there are urgent shift differentials (extra $10-15). Holiday pay is time and a half, with rotating holidays that are able to be switched between colleagues. In house ICU coverage so I don't have to worry about the stress of that. Ability to be trained in the step-down unit if I would like in the future. They also participate in PSLF which is so important to me coming out of school with 225,000 student loan debt. Health/dental/vision/life insurance are all great as well.

Essentially I feel as though I have hit the jackpot as a new grad but wanted to bounce this offer off of experienced PAs. I also can't start until early December due to how long it takes to be credentialed, so I'm a little stressed on how to support myself in the meantime. I have savings, but just enough to get me there. I would appreciate any recommendations. I would love to hear some feedback. Thank you!!
