Have agricultural land but not sure what to actually do with it long term? Setup Orchard Plantations.

Many people today own agricultural land that is either underutilised, giving very low returns, difficult to manage properly, or just simply is sitting unused. And many such people keep posting in these very subs.

We are working with landowners to help develop orchard plantations that can generate long-term income over time.

This includes: plantation planning, drip irrigation setup, saplings and planting, soil improvement systems, and also ongoing guidance and maintenance support.

And in some cases, if the land location and your budget allow, the same land can also be developed into slow-living farm stays alongside the orchards. (We are also building a slow living farm homes brand, in-house)

The idea is simple: instead of land sitting idle, can it become something productive, beautiful, and income-generating over the long term?

We are a team of Agriculture Scientists with PhDs, designers, and execution experts.

The business is still new though, and we are actively looking to work with a few landowners and pilot projects.

Happy to connect if you have agricultural land and are exploring ideas around orchard development or farm-based stays, or just want to turn that into income generating asset over time.

Lived in it for three years, then sold it, now I miss it.

From Rameshwaram to Spiti, I took my van, Maaya, everywhere. I had it for more than four years, built a home in it myself, and I lived in it for three years. In those three years, I met and hosted many incredible people, had life changing experiences, but then I sold it.

I miss it everyday.

It’s been three years since I sold Maaya, and there isn’t a day I haven’t thought about it.

I don’t know if anyone else understands this feeling, but I know people on this sub will understand it.

By the way, if anyone’s planning to own or build a campervan, Tempo Traveller is the best vehicle to do so.

I had a Tempo Traveller 3350, and it was the most pleasaurable driving experience I ever had (and I had the plaeasure of driving a few four wheelers across multiple states).

The turning radius of this vehicle is mind boggling. Driving it in Spiti, in what considered to be some of the most dangerous roads, or even in some of the tight lanes of small towns, I never felt out of control. Maaya never gave up on me, and even when I kept it halted for close to a month in Spiti (as I was volunteering there), it started like a beaut.

As I was missing it particularly more today, I wanted to share that feeling here.

Thanks!

Basically what the title says.

With the means to spend, do people here are okay spending on luxury stays in India or do you just prefer travelling internationally and spending there?

I’m planning to start a network of slow living farm homes and position them as luxury experential stays. So I wanted to understand if you would prefer travelling and staying at such places within India or have an international expedition instead?

While we are on the topic, I also want to understand,

  1. How do you define luxury stays?
  2. Is having a pool or a view mandatory, in your opinion?
  3. Or, is exceptional service, all inclusive incredible food straight from the farm, and wellness focussed services offered on-site enough?

Asking these questions, because, my model is that I colloborate with land owners, where they bring in land and investment, I bring in brand, demand, experience design etc. Some of the land owners have incredible houses but don’t have a pool. So was just trying to understand how do you define luxury stays? What matters to you?

I’m obsessed with hosting and creating incredible guest experiences, creating spaces of belonging.

Previously, when I hosted, it was mostly budgeted, or even free, like when I used to host in my van-home, which I lived in for three years.

But each time, irrespective of the guest, I put immense effort into making even simple budget stays feel exceptional. Over time, that made me wonder what I could create in the luxury hospitality space. So I’m exploring that.

PS: I cannot find a better sub to ask this question, as this sub contains some of the influential and affluent people, so it is a genuine question to understand the needs, so that I can create something amazing. But still if someone feels this doesn’t belong here, please feel free to remove this. Thanks!

There are so many people on this sub with incredible stories. Post ‘FIRE’ing, have you ever thought of turning your story into a book?

It need not be published, if you don’t want to, but at least as a legacy book, for you, your children, or your grandchildren?

Whether it’s for publishing or not, many stories here can act as a huge inspiration for people desiring this kind of lifestyle.

Also, for most of you, this didn’t come easy, I’m sure. There were struggles, sacrifices, and many challenges along the way, which you faced head-on and came out stronger.

And many times, the process itself is very therapeutic. I’ve had people cry, contemplate, and become better because of sitting and reminiscing their story during discussions.

So, has anyone thought of this path? I’m curious to know.

PS: I genuinely feel this is one of the best subs to interact with the highest number of people with incredible and resilient success stories, so I’m posting this here. Still, if someone feels this doesn’t belong here, I’m sorry, and please feel free to delete it. Thanks!
