Other than Acadia NP, what are some must-see places or shops in Hancock or Washington Counties? For places, I like history. For shops, I like vintage, stationery/gift card, or locally made items. Timing is around Labor Day weekend.

The kitties in the first six pictures came home with me.
He looks just like my grandmother’s cat Muffin, so that’s his name. Here he is with his new family of ceramic mold cats. I’m still hunting for a few models.
For some reason these photos wouldn’t come up in my photos when I tried to post on Reddit. I knew I wasn’t crazy and there were photos missing. Well… I probably am crazy but not about this.
The first one is the vintage Persian cat mold, but done in concrete. 2 and 3 are by the same vendor. There were a couple more concrete kitties I took pictures of, but they aren't showing up in Reddit for some reason. Number 4 is a giant Puss in Boots.
These are from a consignment antique mall with over 60 vendors. Not everything is antique or even vintage, but there are lots of great finds.
Third and final stop, a 95,000 square foot antique mall. Lots of good finds. I was a bit rushed in areas. The oldest part of the building wasn’t air conditioned and it was over 100 degrees Fahrenheit (38+ Celsius) that day.
New location, kind of a combination flea market and antique store.
So many kitties! It will take me a while to post them all. Antique store prices are outrageous, but the finds are awesome.
So many good kitty finds at two antique malls and a flea market/antique mall.
I might have gone overboard. But, in my defense, it’s my birthday this weekend. Today I drove 2.5 hours to my state’s antique mall alley and had a great time. I love antique malls. They’re like museums, only they don’t get mad when I pick things up. And if I love something, I can buy it and take it home with me. The Smithsonian gets mad if you touch things.
Some of the prices, especially at the first place, were ridiculous. There were so many great kitties that it it going to take me a while (and multiple posts) to post them all.
In picture 4, I adopted the kitty on the left. In picture 5, I adopted the black and white standing kitty. In picture 10, the blue kitty came home with me.
Hi. I collect cat items. I found this vintage or retro pull toy in a thrift store yesterday. It was on sale for $1.25, so even with the missing back wheels I couldn’t pass it up. Any suggestions for replacing the back wheels? I am not a handy person, but can glue things.
The pai t also needs a good cleaning in areas, but I am afraid of damaging it. Any suggestions?
The wooden platter in picture 1 and the two wine bottles in picture 2 came home with me. I found a black wine bottle a week or so again and now I have a pair.
The kitties in the last two pictures came home with me. The little plastic ones were $0.25 each and the kitties were all in a bag on sale for $1.86.
