"Need help in war" (game-war, of couse).

Game: ASTROGAME

https://play.astrogame.org/?lang=en

Platform:CROSSPLATFORM (browser/Android/IOS)

Genre: MM/Global space 4X(-like) strategy

Nuances:

nice, best Ogame-clone, private Ogame server, two Universes, novadays in both -mst high speeds of progressing (916X and 700+ X - speeds of resource production. )

The essence of the post (goal):

I'm looking for volunteers willing to fight in space, ready to join me in the coming wars. The thing is, precisely because of these astronomical rates of progression, there are already too many fairly strong players in the game. I won't even mention the Top 10—they're already attacking with fleets of millions of ships. The other day, I was attacked not even by a Top 10 player, but by a Top 200 player, and even then, he brought a fleet of 500,000 light fighters. Unfortunately, this happened in a rather slow Universe, and I only started playing it a day or two ago and haven't had time to progress much (only two planets). I'm trying to play both Universes simultaneously—perhaps that's a huge mistake. But all of this is negotiable.

I didn't provide this information to cry, but to show how hardcore the fights are going to be.

So, I need help—I'm looking for friends and allies in these games. First and foremost, I'm looking for veterans of Ogame and similar games who already know what these games are like, who are capable of progressing as quickly as possible under these favorable conditions, building powerful and large fleets, and joining the fray. It is almost impossible to survive in such games alone (I was convinced of this many times, the last time - literally two days ago, only in another game, but almost a copy of this one, only with a much slower Uni: I played there completely non-aggressively, in fact, I played the "neutral turtle" tactic. I put maximum emphasis on researching as many technologies as possible. But at some point I neglected the necessary fleet & saving resources - as a result, one of the planets was attacked by not even the strongest player, but he had a stronger fleet. As a result, I lost a certain amount of very necessary resources there, and a small amount (but that was all that I produced between research on several planets). But the worst thing, the most painful thing for me was that he remained unpunished. I did not have the resources to produce a more powerful fleet. But by that time, all communication in the chat had already ceased in this clan, and I simply had no one to turn to help and support. with that The game is over now. I'm completely focused on this game.

So I'm looking for friends and comrades specifically in these types of games. Naturally, I invite anyone who wants to join me. (But as I wrote above, primarily Ogame veterans (including the hope of becoming a very diligent student of someone willing to teach the deeper, more subtle nuances of these games. I learned a few things in that clan—they also have very strong players there, specifically Ogame veterans. But you can't force love—they didn't want to communicate further—I didn't really want to, and I don't force myself on anyone.)

I'd also be very happy if any of this sub's visitors are veterans or simply former Vega Conflict players. I've been really hating on the game itself for the past few years. But that was exclusively directed at the developers, and never at Vega players who quit or played before its closure. Regardless, I hold players of this game in the same regard as I do Eve-online (and Eve: Echoes) players, especially those of Ogame and its clones.

I'm looking for you all, I really need you, I'm really looking forward to seeing you in AstroGame, Uni: Regulus.

I'd be delighted to welcome you to the [OEG] {Oldschool Elite Gamers} clan. This clan, in this game, has the same traditions and rules as the OEG corporation (one of the oldest corporations in Eve-online).

# #[OEG] FOREVER.

[Hidden gems]:Retro mechanic - beter of 1000000 racing games.

Most racing games are just racing games, meaning they're essentially the same genre. You just race, and that's it.

While Retro Mechanic is a completely different game, it is far from being just another racing game - it is much more.

In this game, racings isn't the main gameplay, but rather a supplementary one. At its core, this game is a life simulator for a private auto mechanic, or a small business simulator for a private auto repair shop.

For six days a week, from Monday to Saturday, you're not just idly and mindlessly racing around the track.

You're fulfilling customer repair orders.

Or you buy used cars with various malfunctions and repair them.

Then you can use these cars as you see fit:

- just collect in your garage a collection of the best retro cars of the past years;

- use one or another car for racing with your participation;

-- sell them and thus also earn money (to expand the business, purchase the best of the offered car options, etc.).

Yes, Retro Mechanic's graphics aren't nearly as striking, fresh, or impressive as couple of more modern racing game's (CarX series, Racing kingdom, Race Max Pro, ets).

But the game wasn't released this year, it was several years ago. And it's still going strong, not abandoned, and still popular.

In my opinion, the highly engaging, multifaceted gameplay completely compensates for the somewhat outdated graphics. In my humble opinion, this game is vastly underrated and could very well be called a "hidden gem" (even a "hidden diamond" or "pearl").

Per Regna - help me figure this out.

[Disclaimer]

This is in no way an advertisement for the game. I personally DO NOT recommend anyone to even start playing it just because you read this post. These are questions specifically and only about the game, but not about the mechanics of the game (I have already figured it out perfectly well myself, and I don’t need any help with that. The questions concern slightly different issues.

So,

Per Regna is about A relatively new game (it was released in January 2025). Initially, it was mobile-only, but the developers have now announced that the game is also available on PC, via the Google Play Games service for Microslap Windows.

The developers insist that this game is essentially a strategy game, and a space-themed 4X strategy at that. I have no doubts or doubts that the game is definitely about space. The graphics are quite similar to (near) space-themed content. According to one of the developers, the game was written and is being maintained/developed by a team of veterans of the legendary browser game Ogame, and is clearly "heavily inspired" by that game. Indeed, there are many similarities. But there are also quite a few differences.

Here are my questions/doubts: can this game really be classified as a 4X strategy game (or rather, the question could be phrased like this: is this truly a strategy game by genre? Or is it more like another farm game, with a very strong focus on colony building/improvement, and minimal additions of strategy elements?)

But what raises the most questions (and a very ambivalent attitude) is this. On the one hand, there's a very obvious similarity to Ogame and similar games (Andromeda: RoH, Xterium, Star Federation, etc.). On the other hand, there's an even greater similarity to games like Stellar Ahe, Galaxy at War, Galaxy Hero, etc., which I personally don't even consider strategies at all. I classify them as SLGs (Strategies-like Games). In other words, they're essentially fake games. Precisely because their developers brazenly and stubbornly call them strategies. While they have much more in common with those idiotic "funny farm games" than with strategies.

And there's another aspect that also raises my serious doubts about this game. The similarities to Ogame are, as it turns out, only superficial, at the level of very basic mechanics. When you delve a little deeper, something completely different emerges. For example, all Ogame clones (as well as the original game itself) have similar features: fairly subtle and precise resource micromanagement; the ability to collect debris from planets that have been attacked and destroyed. Moreover, in Ogame and its clones, these features are basic, available to everyone from the start, and free. And this, as far as I understand, is de facto canon for virtually all Ogame clones.

That's how things are in Per Regna. Until recently, there was no talk of any such subtle micromanagement in the game. But after one player (who seems to be an overly hardcore fan of Ogame-like games) raised quite a fuss about it on Discord, the developers finally decided to implement this ultra-useful and incredibly necessary feature. However, they initially made it a bit pricey. Activating it requires another feature—the so-called "Imperial Access," which, in turn, can only be purchased with real money.

The situation is roughly the same with the feature for collecting debris from planets after attacks and devastations. Currently, this feature is not available for free and can only be purchased through "Imperial Access," meaning it requires a donation.

At the same time, the developers declare that their game is not a commercial project at all, that it does not pursue the goal of extracting maximum profit from fans. Specifically, they stated that the game has no explicit Pay2Win mechanics, and that all paid features are purely and exclusively for decoration or to enhance the gameplay experience. This begs the next question: how do you think these developer statements align with the facts I've presented? Can the debris collection feature be considered "decoration" or a convenience feature? Or is it a basic and essential feature for canonical games like Ogame-like? The same question applies to resource management. Of course, I'm not saying that the fact that these features are paid in this game makes it Pay2Win. But I have questions and doubts in connection with these very questions - is this game a strategy in principle (or is it, to a much greater extent, a shit-farm, which I hate much more than any other games)?

And finally, a little bit of positivity.

Even despite everything that seems rather negative that is stated in this post, there is something about this game that keeps me from deleting it and pushes me to keep playing. I can't even put my finger on it. So, despite everything, I continue to "inhabit" this game (among other things). And if, despite the warning at the very beginning, anyone still gets interested in this game after reading this far and has a desire to try it,

I strongly invite you to join (in this and other ways) the [O.E.G.] {Oldschool Elite-Gamers} clan.

[O.E.G.] - A legacy of the legendary old-school intergame clans (one of which is one of the oldest in Eve Online). We don't recruit just anyone. We invite everyone, but not everyone sticks around.

My TOP 9 pirate-themed games.

Hello. It's T1gerHeart here, and today I'm going to share with you my micro-collection (favorite&must-have) of pirate-themed mobile games.

This post appeared as a response to this publication (in the r/spacegames subreddit, which I highly like): https://www.reddit.com/r/spacegames/s/scys5whqhs

I'm a huge and passionate fan of pirate games (primarily space pirates, but also Caribbean pirates). This topic is close to my heart very hard. And I care about which pirate games are

are offered and promoted.

For my part, I believe I've developed a fairly solid taste in these types of games, which I'd like to share.

For mobile devices, I recommend only a few pirate-themed games that are worth investing your time in (and those who have the opportunity and desire can thank the developers with a small/minimal real investment).

Number 1(, 2,3,4,5):

The pirate:Caribbean Hunt (+Plague of death part)

  1. Pirates and traders 1,2

  2. Age of pirates rpg Elite((very old but really nice) game, It's been abandoned for a long time and can no longer be found in the Market, but it's quite possible to find it on sideload portals (apkpure, apkcombo, apkmirror, uptoide, aptodown, etc.). It most likely won't work on devices with newer versions of Android (14+). But if you have a device with an Android version earlier than A13, it's quite possible you can still play it.

  3. Baltic merchant - It's also a fairly old game, unique in its own way (it's a hot, bombic mix of adventure, trading tycoon, and idle mechanics). Its situation is roughly similar to the previous game—it's not in the Market, and it won't work on new Android devices, but it's still possible to find, launch, and play if you really want to.

  4. Pirates:Call of sea - This game is also interesting in its own way. The situation is similar to the previous one.

  5. Last pirate survival (+Last pirate fishing game) - These are two games that are more about island survival than pirates. But they're still relevant and work on new devices running the latest Android versions.

These are probably all the pirate-themed and pirate-related games for mobile devices that I personally enjoy and would recommend.

[Semi-offtopic] Question-quest (inside)

This is truly a quest question, but at the same time, it's also a test. A test to... "old-school-[lity] " in space games.

(*Just don't push the AI too hard. They probably won't help. And don't take it too seriously—I'll publish the correct answer myself in a few days. 🤣).

So:

"What could this nickname (Tigerheart) have to do with the theme of space in general, and games in particular? "

[Starmade] Does anyone else remember this great game, a genuine MS clone but about space?

The game was completely open source at the time (about 12-15 years ago). I remember that very well. Previously, to install it, you had to download a source code package, a compiler, or something similar, and, I think, recompile it every time a new update was released. Nevertheless, the project looked very promising.

Questions:

  1. Does anyone have any information about why the project stalled and was abandoned?

  2. Are there really no specialists left who are highly skilled enough to simply take the finished code and pick up where it left off?

  3. As far as I understand programming, it might even be possible to scale this game up—to make mobile versions in addition to the PC version?

The more I play modern MMO (space) games, the more I feel like they are much worse than very old games.

Let's compare two space games: Colony Attack and Per Regna, and try to choose only one of the two.

Colony Attack - a very old game (release date: December 5, 2012 (!!!!!)( name at least one other mobile MMO that has lived so long, and is still quite alive, and even has a not very small community and circle of regular players.

Per Regna is a very new game (release: December 24, 2025).

By and large, these two games are very similar. In fact, they could even be classified as belonging to the same subgenre: global space 4X strategy. However, the similarities are very superficial. In both games, the initial gameplay is largely based on the very primitive mechanics of even more idiotic, primitive farm-clicker games: the base/city/colony building and upgrading mechanics, with a constant increase in the production of basic resources (metal, crystals, gas). In fact, this same mechanic is present in many space games (Andromeda: Rebirth of Humanity, Xterium, Deep Space, Galaxy Reborn, Galaxy Conquest, including such old-school legends as Ogame, Supernova, Blazaar (+Space Kings), Star Federation, etc.).
However, I personally see at least two obvious (for me) and very important advantages of the game Colony Attack in comparison with all the other games mentioned.

  1. The maximum upgrade level of all buildings is finite, and the lowest is only 7 or 8.

  2. Colony Attack has a unique (for its kind) feature: battle replays. No other similar game has this. (The exceptions are Andromeda, Eve:GC, and Kepler-2100: these games don't need replays because their summit battles take place in real time and are directly visualized to some degree. Nevertheless, I really like this unique feature of Colony Attack.)

  3. Colony Attack still doesn't have the wow-inspiring graphics of, say, Eve:GC or Kepler-2100, Infinite Lagrange, etc., or even Per Regna (the graphics in that game are probably the best of everything it has. However, I would prefer the style of the buildings in this game to be more "space-like" - for example, I really like the buildings in Xterium. Just like in Galaxy at: War - I like them too (although I don't even consider that game a true, canonical 4X space strategy. But that's a topic for a separate post).

But I'll get back to Colony Attack. It doesn't have the same impressive, eye-catching graphics; in fact, it doesn't even have any modern graphics. It's very likely that the graphics in this game were created back in 2012 and have remained at the same level of visualization. However, I see this as an advantage, not a disadvantage.
Such graphics are a pretty strong barrier against the infestation of the game by a crowd of "hamster players" (these are school-age "mom's gamers"). They have no experience and/or skill whatsoever for playing such games. But they have an ego the size of a planet, and fairly wealthy parents. I haven't checked the presence and total number of such "uber-cool gamers", for example, in the same Eve:GC, Kepler-2100. Because these "games" are slightly less interesting to me than not at all. But Per Regna is interesting to me (for now) (if only because it gives me quite a lot of ideas for similar publications right now. But that's not all. There's something else that draws me to it, but I can't yet figure out what exactly. But I'll definitely figure it out sooner or later).
So, I really don't want a "horde of these hamsters" to invade this game. But I predict that the likelihood is there, and it's too high. I'll list the reasons for this prediction in another post. But here's what worries me even more: it's quite possible that the developers/owners and Per Regna themselves find these very "gamers" very attractive and desirable. I can't confirm this definitively yet—it's just a guess. But sooner or later I'll find confirmation or refutation. However, perhaps for players with sufficient experience and skill in such games, even a fairly large "horde of these gamers" won't be too much of a problem.
As one of the barbarian leaders who surrounded and destroyed Rome once said: "The more grass there is, the easier it is to mow."

And now imagine that after all this, you need to choose only one of these two games. Which one do you choose?

(* I already have (my own) answer. But, maybe, it is far from obvious, as it may seem after reading this post. Therefore, I will post it in a separate post in a few days. Follow the continuation of this topic...*).
