Recommendation: Turn on vac once you get to the location

I don't know why it is that once the vac leaves the dock, the vacuum function starts right up, even when the vacuum has to travel to its destination before cleaning. (If there's something I'm missing, please enlighten me!)

In my opinion, the vacuum should leave the dock, travel to its destination, and then start the vacuum function. This should improve the battery longevity, as it shouldn't need as much power.

I regularly set my vac to clean my bedroom, which is across the house from the dock, and it doesn't make sense to me.

2013 VW Tiguan with TPMS Warning after front brake repair

My car is a 2013 VW Tiguan 2.0 TSi. I had my front brakes repaired yesterday after one side was seized. The mechanic replaced both of the front calipers, rotors and pads, and replaced a brake hose. (They also quoted me over $5K for a turbo replacement, but that's for another post.)

When I left the shop just before they closed, there was a loud noise, and I immediately got a message saying "Tire Monitoring Currently Not Available". I thought perhaps I had run over something or there was a flat tire, but all four tires were at proper pressure.

I immediately called the shop and they seemed a bit dismissive that anything they did might have caused the issue. The mechanic/manager asked, "well, do you have a flat tire?" I explained what had happened, and he said, "my guy has half an hour tomorrow morning - bring it back in and we'll see what's up."

When I finally got home, I used my scan tool and received two ABS codes: 01314 Engine Control Module and 01325 Tire Pressure Monitoring Control Module.

Is it possible that during the brake service, some part of the tire pressure monitoring system 'came loose' or was somehow damaged? I'm trying to determine my next steps, as I am taking it back to the shop this morning.

My new-to-me 2013 Tiguan

With under 74K, I paid under $10K Canadian for this old girl who is in mostly pristine condition. There's a little bit of rust starting around the seams in one or two spots, but I could not be happier with my purchase.

I learned my first lesson recently after my third fillup with 87 octane gas that this is a no-no, and she needs at least 91 octane to run properly. We'll be fixing that up over the next fillup.
