Are there any tuner apps with a high pass filter?
I am using TE Tuner on my Android phone. It consistently picks up a Bb0 around 28.8 Hz from I presume my air conditioner. I'm impressed that it can hear a pitch that low, but it is well below anything I can play on my violin. I wish I could limit the app to only respond to frequencies in the violin pitch range, but there doesn't seem to be an option to do that. I tried setting the tuner to violin string mode, but that did not help. Can anyone recommend a tuner app that can be set to only respond to frequencies I intend to play?
I'm so glad this meme template now has a caption or else I'd have no idea what that guy was thinking
Did it get deleted?
There was a new video briefly up on Nebula earlier, but it looks like it's been deleted. Did anyone see it?
YouTube TV needs to verify your location to get any local programming (which includes FIFA matches for some reason). They only tell you about this requirement after you've paid for a subscription.
I really love that one episode of DS9 where...
Where a mind virus turns everyone on the station crazy except for Odo and Quark, and the two of them have to team up to save everyone else.
If someone has been wronged by a corporation or government, there are few more cowardly or selfish things they can do than accept a confidential, no-admission-of-guilt settlement.
It allows the entity that harmed them to escape almost all accountability and to keep doing the same thing to other people with zero exposure. To actually stop a systematic wrongdoing requires public exposure, which is exactly why companies will try to keep things quiet by throwing money at a person to buy their silence.
YES, I AM FAMILIAR WITH EN PASSANT!!!!
I have been familiar with it for a very long time, and the app should now be well aware that I am familiar with it. Yet, every time it comes up, the app is still like "hey, have you heard about how you can capture a pawn with this one neat trick?" And today's puzzle as well just wants to make quite sure that you, reasonable skilled player of chess, know the moves that the chess pieces can make. Also, I have read rule 1.
[TOMT] Fox TV show from mid-90s with space cops and 3-eyed aliens
I don't think it lasted very long. I think it was about cops in a sci-fi setting. There were these blue aliens with latent telekinetic powers, they had a closed, third eye in the middle of their foreheads, and when they did psychic things it would open. I remember one scene where they were watching a TV show, a swordfight scene came on, and then the TV went blank until one guy "hacked the v-chip." There was an episode about one guy being accused of shooting down a flying car he was pursuing without cause, but then it turned out the guy was shooting back at him first. Any ideas?
I got a transfer of 1 HUF into my PayPal account completely out of the blue. The note on the transfer says: "Pre-fund confirmation: USD 987.90 is pending charge to Coinbase via PayPal. This small deposit is just used for the account activation check. For questions, call [Phone number redacted]"
Obviously, they want me to call the number and then give them some personal information. I wonder if anyone is dumb enough to actually fall for it. 1 HUF, BTW, is worth about 0.0032 USD. They couldn't even scam me with a whole penny.
Side note: It was extremely difficult to get an image of this. The PayPal app doesn't allow taking screenshots, and their website wasn't showing the full comment. PayPal all doesn't appear to have any way to report scambaiting like this.
