This Post is for Discord Bot Grow!

Hey, I made the website https://topbot.gg

This website exist, so you could (as an discord bot developer) find any bot you like (or at least that bots, that have been submitted by discord developers)

This website is now online for 4 days, and I want to share the stats for it. We have

- 124 visitors

- 1445 Page views

Here you can proof:

https://preview.redd.it/4zi46omgi6kh1.png?width=2512&format=png&auto=webp&s=e1cbd7c6c7b15f3dcc2594db96678239a31ba3f8

I made this because I was annoyed about small developers that can not be seen anymore cause of big bots, that are using the spotlight, even though you maybe also did a great bot that deserves more attention.

So at the moment, we are helping small developers a lot. They get more invites (also visible in that 4 days) and I get more developers submitting their bots, so users will get a better experience. Most of the visitors are normal users searching for the right bot. So if you are a developer, get your chance now and submit your Bot today

Yes of course this is an advertisement. But I show facts and I also want to help developers, which may habe the same problem in the past than me. So I hope, dear mods, you see it just like me.

Give me a upvote if you support my journey and if you also think that this is a great project

Would you submit your bot at my website for 3€?

I build a discord list website and I tried to get feedback for this website in a post one day ago. The top commentator said, that nothing is free nowadays and you have to pay for that.
So I was asking if you as a discord bot developer would submit your bot at my website for 3€ per Bot (only bots that go through the review and that's not hard if you have a normal bot with slash commands and a help command wich works)

I think the amount is for the time that you need to do this fair for both sides.
Let me know in the comments if you also think so and if you would like to do this

My bot has 6,000 servers and nobody finds it. So I spent three weeks building my own directory.

I run Link Protect, a moderation bot that's in about 6,200 servers. It
sits somewhere past page ten on the big list. Not because it's bad —
because the ranking rewards bots that already have votes, and those bots
already have votes because they're at the top. There's no way in from the
bottom.

What pushed me over the edge was the vote flow itself. Last time I voted
for my own bot I sat through a video ad first, and then got offered a
paid plan that votes automatically every 12 hours. Voting is the one
lever a small developer has, and it's turning into a thing you pay for.

So I built Topbot.gg. It went live yesterday.

What's actually there:

- Every listing is reviewed by hand before it goes public. I invite the
bot to a server and check that it does what the description claims.
- Voting is free, twelve-hour cooldown, no ads and no subscription.
- German and English as separate content per field, not a translated
shell. If your bot has German users, they find it in German.
- Vote webhooks with HMAC signatures, a delivery log, and a test button.
Public REST API for stats.
- Embeddable SVG badges for your own site.

Now the part that matters for you: there are four bots on it right
now. Mine and one other. That's not a humble brag, it's the offer — if
you list this week, you're on the front page of a directory that's
growing, and you stay there. In six months that's gone.

If you'd rather wait until it's proven, that's completely fair. I'd
probably wait too.

Disclosure: I built it, so obviously I want you to use it. Happy to
answer anything about how the review or the API works.

Looking for bot developers to test my discord bot list website

First of all - This is not an advertisement, I really just need 1-2 Bot developers who can test the submit path of my website for any errors.

What you need: - A discord bot that you own

It's pretty simple.

  1. Go on the website and login with discord
  2. Click at submit bot in the navigation bar and go through the submitting process.

What I need after that:

- Did you find some bugs?

- Was the submit process clear?

- Should be anything different?

Honest Feedback!

I don't know if I am allowed to post the link of the website here, so I would really like to get a comment or dm from you, so I can send it to you and we can stay in contact through the process.
I will update you if I had enough testers (I don't really know if anyone would use his time to test it, but I really believe in you)

Please reddit, let there be some devs who can help me with that!

I am so exited about Discord Bot Developers who are submitting theyr bots on my new bot list website!!!

https://preview.redd.it/u7y7zy57v5jh1.png?width=3020&format=png&auto=webp&s=090d59c4dfe58f3b610198efc2d2c11747f055be

I launched yesterday my Discord Bot list website and its craaazy how much people I get here in such a short time. I always knew that there are a lot of discord bot developers, that needs more attention and wants to get seen by anyone and its very hard at top.gg after they have paid votes now. I think what most of these people want, was also a site that does not have these big famous bots in it. And because I launched 22h ago, they still don't have submitted their bots.

That's great for little developers and I knew that this will work!!

So happy about that at the moment

I am so exited, testing all these Bots

Voting on top.gg has turned into a chore and I got tired of it, so I built the thing I wanted instead

I run a small Discord bot. Nothing huge but at least +6200 server. And getting any visibility on the big directory has slowly turned into something I actively dread.

Two things pushed me over.

The first is the voting flow. Last time I sent people to vote for my bot, they had to sit through a video ad before the vote registered. Ten seconds. That doesn't sound like much until you're asking your community to do it twice a day, every day, to keep a ranking position. I stopped asking. Most of my users had already stopped anyway.

The second is structural, and it bothers me more. Ranking is driven by vote volume, and vote volume is driven by how many people you already have. A bot on 500k servers gets more votes because it has more users, which keeps it on the front page, which gets it more users. If you're starting out, there's no entry point. you're not competing on whether your bot is good, you're competing on a number you can't move.

So I built Topbot.gg. I want to be straight about what it is right now: one bot is listed. Mine. There is no traffic. If you're looking for reach today, this isn't it, and I'd rather say that than have you find out by clicking. Because I published it ten minutes ago after 3 Months of working. Design is obviously by Claude code, but backend and security is full by me!

What's different is how it's built:

  • Every listing is reviewed by hand before it goes public. I invite the bot to a server, check that it does what the description says, and check that the permissions it asks for are proportionate. The review panel decodes the invite's permission bitfield into plain language and flags ADMINISTRATOR in red - which a surprising number of bots request because it's easier than working out what they actually need.
  • Voting is free and always will be. 12-hour cooldown, enforced server-side. No ads, no video, no paid tier that votes for you. If that ever changes, it changes for a reason I'll write down publicly.
  • Sorting is separate from voting. Servers, votes this month, votes total, newest, rating - pick one. The default is votes this month, which resets on the 1st, so a listing from three years ago doesn't sit on top forever.
  • Vote manipulation gets flagged. Second account from the same address counts in the total but not in the ranking. Your number goes up; your position doesn't.
  • Bilingual, German and English, with editorial category pages instead of an empty grid.

I built it because I wanted somewhere to list my own bot that didn't feel like a slot machine. If that sounds useful to you, submitting now means you're in a directory of about five bots instead of forty thousand. for whatever that's worth, which today is honestly not much, but it costs you ten minutes.

And if you think the whole model is broken and a new directory won't fix it, say so. I'd rather hear that now than in six months.

Apple accepted my discord bot app

I was a little bit surprised about that because Apple usually is very strict with their rules.
I have a very successful discord bot called Link Protect. It is now after one year the best discord bot you can get to protect your server from unwanted links and pretty popular.

I was now after one year after publishing the bot creating a website for the bot, because I needed a dashboard for the user to set up the settings for the bot, because the bot got too much commands now. The community really likes it, gave me some suggestions and feedback and I was listening.

So I also wanted the user to have an app for the Bot. A Widget would be nice so they can see directly in their Home Screen what the bot is doing. Also I wanted the user to add users with no manage server perms to manage the bot settings and notifications via push to the users, so they can see what happened, if someone has been warned or setting have been changed or the bot status has changed.

But Apple don't like logins without different login methods, or at least without apple login. But I don't need an apple login for the app to work, I just need Discord Oauth for it. I asked ChatGPT and he answered pretty good.

"Discord-only sign-in (Guideline 4.8): Discord OAuth is the only sign-in because the app manages a bot on servers the user administers; there is no separate account. Per Guideline 4.8, Sign in with Apple is not required for clients of a specific third-party service."

So I made the App, send it to apple and after one hour (so fast) it was already accepted.

The users love the app, I made 480 downloads at the first day. After that I also made Apple Watch connectivity, so you don't even need your phone to be up to date. I made much apps for the App Store but this one is still my favorite.

If you also want to test or to use the Link Protect App, you can download it here:

My girlfriend is studying and needs something important, that is missing in Notion

The App is German, but I will add English in 2 days.

My Girlfriend tells me that she needs something, because she knows that I have 5 Apps already in the App Store. She is using Notion for a long time. But she thinks it is confusing and not easy to use. Also she definitely needs to import PDFS and write directly on them and a live synchronization between her Mac and iPad.

So I build Smartnote.

Smartnote is similar to Notion. You can add blocks, edit your text, add photos or pdf. But it has some features that make it like no other app I know.

- Live synchronization between Mac or Macbook and iPad

- You can write/mark/sketch anywhere with your Apple Pencil on your iPad in the file

- Pomodoro timer or normal timer

- Create Flashcards (I will add a flashcard store from user to user soon) and learn and get notipficated when its time to learn them again

The biggest problem was the block creating and Apple Pencil writing. That took me one week, because I always hat bugs with that, but I finally got it now!

I am also using the App now by myself. For me, it's better than Goodnotes and Notion together because it solved the problems of my girlfriend, and I will also never have any problems like her.

If you want to try it out, you can check it here in the App Store: https://apps.apple.com/de/app/smartnote/id6775043393

Erfahrung zur Dating App Tease?

Servus zusammen.

My App made 800 Downloads in 2 days but I want to earn money with it

https://preview.redd.it/a2tdawwl9c1h1.png?width=2520&format=png&auto=webp&s=1bf4621dd523e11b9760f32de33b6d98fcc42f0f

I made this App just for fun 1 Month ago. I made 1-2 installs daily and now since I made it free, it's over 800 downloads in total. But I want to monetize it and don't know what I can do so people are interested to pay for it. Please leave any suggestions what would be a good feature to earn some money in this App

I started a waitlist for my German dating app to get more users before we start

Product hunt community: Because I did not generate users for my German dating App I have closed the app and am giving it a waitlist for users. They can now register and the app and see the waitlist view but only get in if I have reached the users I need to give everyone a good match. Less people = less matches and faster uninstalls. I also am giving the users in the waitlist free premium life long.

I hope this now generate users. I am also using TikTok, instagram, and YouTube short to advertise the app. YouTube short is the best. I get ~1000 views per video. But TikTok and instagram generate like 20 views with the same video. I don’t know why.

Now I am generating sloowww new registers but only 1 a day. I need 450 more to open the app again
