Primordial Mountain Bridge

I’ve tried so many of the swamp holes and can’t seem to get to the spirit to get permission to cross the bridge. Advice?

Is IR okay?

I’m a new medicine prelim intern. I’m on a service right now that requires me to consult a lot of other services.

Unfortunately for everyone, today is a Saturday and I still have to consult other services. Every single service recommended an IR procedure instead of whatever their service would do instead. Is this the norm everywhere? Poor IR is getting flogged on a Saturday.

Ray’s Seafood Market Closing

Really awful. I loved the seafood and used to buy whatever was fresh to make for special dinners. Is there a comparable local spot?

Stroller “friendly” church street restaurants?

We’ve lived here years and have mostly dined at the smaller restaurants. We’re looking for one we can bring the stroller in the won’t be a huge obstacle for everyone to navigate around.

Preferably something that can do lunch (11-1 or so)

30+, what is your favorite genre of queer entertainment?

I grew up in a very rural, very red area with a homophobic, religious family. Coming to terms with my sexuality was a long, messy road.

My favorite genre is angst +/- coming of age. I prefer bittersweet endings. But definitely media where the couple is figuring out who they are and what they want, while trying to keep it a secret. One of my favorite recent films is The World to Come.

Did anyone else not realize they never got invited to their residency group chat?

It’s FINE, but I thought it was weird we weren’t doing any social events during orientation week. Turns out everyone has been doing social events and I had no idea because I never got the group chat link

Little Spoon vs Once Upon a Farm Meals?

I’m about to start working a lot more and we will need some prepped meals. I do plan on doing meal prep, but we tried one of the Little Spoon baby meals and found it super easy!

Our girlie is 7.5mo and i was something fairly simple. We’ve used LS pouches and purées for a while and do like OUAF pouches. Does anyone have any thoughts on either prepped meal from these services?

Does the Ribbon Eel spawn on big fish island?

I’m island hopping trying to find an island I can run around aimlessly until its shadow pops up. I ended up on one of the Big Fish Islands. Its size is listed as “Long” so I’m not sure if it’ll spawn here?

Anybody got an “early walker” not an “early talker”?

Kiddo is 7.5 mo. She’s amazing. Very interactive and fun. Started crawling recently (yesterday LOL). Reaches for uppies, knows her name, drinks from her straw cup and eats three meals a day. Blows tons of raspberries and recently started blowing them on objects and us 🤣 squeals, laughs, and makes all sorts of sounds. Recently started doing some 2 syllable consonant sounds but none of the “babababa” “dadadada” yet. I know that’s a 9mo milestone, but it’s starting to make me nervous 🤪 people keep telling me that she’s an “early walker” not an “early talker”!

Is The Bump app nuts for suggesting I reach out to my pediatrician re: babbling?

Our kiddo is 7mo. Milestones always exacerbate my PPA and when she turned 7mo and wasn’t babbling, I got anxious. Calmed myself down - but two weeks later The Bump app mentioned that if kiddo “isn’t interested in babbling or mimicking sound yet, it’s a good idea to contact your pediatrician”

She responds to name, crawls, reaches for uppies, mimics behaviors (hitting two rings together when I do) and I think she’s been trying to mimic me saying “mama” but isn’t there yet.

She does a lot of squealing, laughing, smiling, vowel sounds. Had consonant sounds like “ba, ga, ma, pa, poo, wa, ha, ya” and sometimes does vowel consonant combos like “agoo”, but doesn’t string consonant sounds together yet.

Is it too early to reach out?? Is she actually behind? I wasn’t thinking so because it’s a 9mo milestone but now idk

Childcare Vent

I hate childcare here. Our daycare has been closed for a month and we have no idea if/when they’ll open again. We have been on other waitlists for 15 months. We’ve used nearly all of our PTO, spent thousands in babysitters, and now are left at the crossroads of WTF are we going to do if this goes on. I thought we did everything right getting on lists as soon as we found out we were pregnant and securing childcare but here we are. We’re in the process of interviewing Nannies now as (hopefully) temporary measure, as we sure can’t afford full time nanny pay

Have the fish gods blessed me?

I just caught an Arapaima, 3 Dorado, and an Arowana. All in a row. Within 10 minutes. If I hadn’t checked to see the rarity, I would’ve thought Dorado was a common fish haha

Where would you take a 7mo this fine summer day?

I’ve lived in Burlington for 4 years now and have done a lot, but haven’t really hit up the kiddo stuff.

  1. because spent most of her life in winter, we never went anywhere
  2. the rain really impeded a lot of our plans this spring

We’re considering the farmyard at Shelburne Farms, but we’re unsure how long the walk to the farmyard is?

Maybe sit down at Shelburne Vineyards and share a bite to eat with her while having a glass?

Her bedtime is 730 and our ideal “activity” would be between 330 and 630

Thank you!

Edit: thank you all!! We have the rest of these on our list for the remainder of the season!! We ended up doing Shelburne farms today earlier today and it was a great visit!

Notorious EMWs

Our daughter has been sleep trained for months, started STN at 14 weeks and since we began her schedule at 5 weeks, as always had a 730-630 overnight. For about a month or so, she’s been having EMWs.

She never makes any noise and either lays there quietly, practices crawling, or goes back to sleep. Today she did all 3. Woke pre 530 (not sure when), quietly laid in her crib and did some crawling practice, fell back asleep at 615 until I got her at 630.

Her schedule is on the low end of day sleep (I think for her age - she’s 3 days shy of 7 months old)

DWT: 630
3/3.25/4.25
Bed: 730

With the EMWs, sometimes that first window ends up being 3.5-4 hours. I’m a huge fan of PLS and according to their mantra, she’s still on the higher end of average for total sleep. I guess: should I bother changing anything since it doesn’t seem to change our ability to get to our anchored first nap and she doesn’t wake anyone?

What were the steps to your baby crawling?

Our daughter is almost 7 months old (she’s 1 week away). For the past month or so she’s been practicing planking. These last few days she’s been rocking on her hands and knees and now goes from belly to sitting unassisted. I feel like it’s all a bunch of parts that need to come together to get her moving. She scoots backwards all day long and pivots super well, but forward motion is still a WIP lol

I’m so looking forward to her getting mobile enough to crawl towards what she wants and I feel like it’s such a waiting game UGH! Also, when did your kiddos start babbling? She’s SO vocal, but no “mamamama” yet.

How to navigate gaps in grace periods

I’m waiting for my meeting with my school’s FA advisor, but this is just the third meeting to re-hash things. Until my third meeting, I want to make sure this is sound?

I’m graduating with 480k in student loan debt on the government end and 40k in the private sector. Most of my loans have a 6mo grace period except a couple, which are during starting next month.

I’m a graduating medical student and won’t be starting residency until July, so I essentially won’t have income until then. I was thinking of applying for forbearance until July and then applying for the RAP plan over IBR for the interest subsidy.

While I am hoping for PSLF, it is unclear to me at this time whether physicians will continue to be included under PSLF in the future and I don’t want to take the lower IBR payments while betting on PSLF.

Does this sound correct? The caveat is that my wife and I filed jointly and we have a dependent. Our return this year was just north of 7k, which would cover 90% of my projected RAP payments for the year.
