Kaolin PICA: update 1

The homemade coffee replacement worked a couple of days, and like WOW, that clay craving hit me with a TON of bricks. Well, I've struggled and I will say I do feel like I've consumed less of the clay this time, but I cannot help it. The stress from work kills me the most and eating kaolin has been the only thing to satisfy me nerves.

Anyway, someone mentioned baby powder of all things, but one without chemicals and talc, and they even made little clay chunks with it. It looked absolutely delicious, though I do wonder about the earthy taste that I hugely crave with kaolin. However, the OP on that post shared she's lived with PICA for 10 years using bp, and hasn't had adverse effects.

I'm desperate now. I've ordered some and it has arrived. I will go tomorrow morning before work to pick it up. I hope and pray this turns out good, even good enough. Maybe I could just mix it with the clay to ween away from kaolin to something less detrimental to my health. Anyways. I'll share an update once I taste bp.

Replacing clay with coffee???

Hi there, I'm just wanting to vent a bit.

My pica cravings have taken a massive toll on my health as I'm learning. I'll need to either learn to balance my diet and nutrient intake against my kaolin clay consumption, OR, find a way to ween myself off this stuff.

Simply put, I CANNOT stop eating it. I can eat a whole 8oz bag of kaolin in two days, sometimes one, and I'm already ordering another round of it. I've probably spent a few hundred now on kaolin, and the thing is, I'm so overwhelmed and stressed, and eating clay is this strange, soothing escape. I can't even look at video of pottery without it triggering me to eat some. I have no idea what to do.

I won't get into the details, but my health is taking a big hit, and I can't stop.

However, I made myself a really special iced coffee, with the works, premium Columbian roast, Madagascar vanilla extract, a small dash of an allspice like seasoning from an Asian market, whole DHA milk, topped with either foam or extra creamy whipped cream.

It was SO GOOD, I was like, it totally occupied my thoughts, as I sipped it all day. I'm wondering if I can use this to get off the clay, because I know I can stop drinking coffee if I need to. Done it before. But this issue with the clay has been abysmal. I'm just hoping that the end result doesn't become a caffeine dependency, from a clay dependency. I'll update everyone on how it's going, for anyone curious.

HELP! I was scammed by a seller, and Etsy refused to take action against them. How can I escalate this case to corporate???

I was scammed by a seller who asked to send back items I was dissatisfied with, and promised to reimburse the shipping. I followed through, provided the tracking and everything asked for. And keep in mind, the entire exchanged happened ON the platform, not off with emails and other communication. It's all there, the evidence of the exchange. Then the seller refused to reimburse me.

After getting Etsy involved, all they ended up saying was they'd give me a measly $50 credit, and told me there was nothing else they could do. They didn't EVEN disable the seller's account, or threaten them to make right with me as the buyer.

The WORST part about all of this is the seller was REWARDED in that they got to keep their storefront, while I'm left punished for trying to do the right thing, and ended up burned so badly.

I need to know how I can escalate this further, where I can go for help when Etsy's supervisory team fails the buyer.

Facebook Alternatives: more discussions on seeking, and creating SOLUTIONS

Hey there,

I've seen SO MANY people discussing issues involving Facebook, it's not even funny. Well I'm here to start discussions on SOLUTIONS, for these issues. Some will discuss "integrated" solutions, while others will discuss a "replacement platform" that is user-centric, prioritizes user experience, putting heavy restrictions on AI generated content, prioritizes security and privacy, provide a HUMAN run customer support, and providing services that actively builds community online, and not constantly disrupt.

I'd to start with grievances regarding Facebook's experience overall, what you actually like about Facebook, what you dislike, and what are your "suggestions" for improvement. Also, I want to discuss means of integrating pre-existing data on FB, to connect with superior "alternatives" we're developing. That way, there's no feeling of losing certain things on FB (connections, pages you follow, groups you've joined, etc.), but still we have an alternative to look forward to.

There are some incredible stuff my group and I are working on as far as "solutions" are concerned, which involves "superior alternatives" being "discussed", and we are beginning the process of engaging with people, and in the next few days, there will be more development on what's to come of these "discussions".

This is about "finding" solutions for artists, authors, game devs, musicians, and other creatives, (protecting your work, providing monetization and other incentivized opportunities), reduce the insane amount of censorship and sanitization imposed by other platforms, bring back internet nostalgia, bring support to the fandom communities, it's really a lot!

Anyone ready to talk, discuss this mission, let's start now!

How do I invite users to a subreddit?

I have a tablet (Android), and a computer (Windows, Chrome browser), how do I invite people on either platform?

Looking for a partner who can work with Revive Adservers

I can't go into details publicly, but my team was going to partner with an adops who employs Revive, but they've since become unresponsive and I need to get someone new onboard.

In short, I am part of a team building a grassroots project, with incredible potential, already building a LOT of interest, and many users are ready to engage. Again, there's not a lot I can discuss right here, but I do need a new collaborator that's a good fit for our project.
