E. Keen in S08? Still same.

A few seasons ago someone on here told me that I could expect a revelation about the Elizabeth Keen character once I reach S08. I have, and I’m sorry to say it has been underwhelming so far. I’m beginning to suspect that the writer(s) responsible for Liz Keen’s character either isn’t/aren’t very good to begin with or positively hate the character. I find it difficult to accept that a human being, an FBI profiler, no less, can be so infuriatingly stupid and vacuous, and have such fungible morality to go along with the stupidity. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve no problem with various shades of darkness in a fictional character but the strange incoherence and inconsistency from season to season get my goat. In S08, she seems to have conveniently forgotten how much Red did solely for her benefit and what she put him through in the previous seasons. This seems to be terrible writing seen whichever way. I would begin to regret spending so many hours watching The Blacklist were it not for James Spader.

Scleral lens must-know: do-s and don’t-s

To all you veteran wearers of scleral lens, I come seeking advice. Do you have a list of things that should be done and things that absolutely should not be done in respect of wearing a scleral lens in one or both eyes?

In do: some kind user in another thread, in response to a question of mine, suggested the trick of looking up while removing the lens with the little blue handle-like thing. It has made the removal considerably easier for me. By instinct, I was already using my thumb and index forefinger to spread the eyelids, but this trick made it even better.

In don’t: I have been warned never to fall asleep with the scleral lens on. How absolute is that? Can one doze off while in a seating position with the lens on? How about taking a shower with the lens on? Or splashing water on the face at the kitchen or bathroom basin? What if it starts to rain while I’m outside, wearing the lens? 🤔

Please help if you can. Thank you for your time.

Request for advice re scleral lens wearing

Question from a scleral lens newbie: Do you folks put on your scleral lens completely on your own with no help from anyone else? How do you check for trapped air bubbles, especially small ones? How problematic or harmful are trapped air bubbles when wearing the lens for long hours (minimum 12-14 hours) at a stretch? Thank you in advance for your time.

I have just one “Keen” question.

Can some kind soul please explain to me why whoever wrote the character of Elizabeth Keen made her such a terrible, and frightfully stupid character? How is the series served by such godawful stupidity compounded by unearned, pointless hubris in a lead character? (I’m in S3 but I don’t mind spoilers. I’m tagging it as such.)

MySubaru Companion subscription: worth it?

Hello my fellow Subaru CrossTrek owners and enthusiasts, I have a quick question for you. I just received a promotional email from Subaru informing me of “MySubaru Companion” subscription service. Please let me know, in your opinion, is it worth it? The “MySubaru Companion+” tier runs to about $120 per year (or $12 per month). My CrossTrek is 2015 CPO, Sports trim. I drive only about 1,000 to max 1,200 miles per month and live in a reasonably safe neighborhood, but my city does have a not so great reputation. May I seek some advice, please? Thank you for your time.

Thoughts on dashcam for a 2025 CrossTrek?

Ever since I bought my first CrossTrek (2025 CPO), I’ve been getting suggestions from people to buy a dash cam and have it installed, even if aftermarket. Apparently, it is essential considering the city I live in. May I get some thoughts on this from seasoned CrossTrek owners? Thank you in anticipation.

Requesting advice: Use the Manual (M) shift in 2025 CrossTrek Sport trim?

I’m requesting a bit of advice from all you seasoned CrossTrek owners/drivers. My 2025 CrossTrek is the first ever automatic shift vehicle I have owned. I have been driving since 1998 and I have only driven stick so far (I’ve always preferred stick; my first Subaru, a 2014 Impreza, was manual transmission). With the CrossTrek’s CVT automatic gear, is there any possible situation in which the M mode may be useful? If yes, do the numbers in M (1,2,3…) correspond to the gear-shifts in a manual transmission vehicle?

Did something change substantially in the Waze iOS app?

When I started using Waze back in late 2012, the biggest attractions were a) community participation with b) real time or near-real time updates and c) Waze’s learning algorithm that remembered my preferred routes. A decade and a half later, while the bells and whistles have increased, the Waze app on my iPhone no longer seems to remember my preferred routes. Even where a straight road exists from point A to point B, Waze needlessly tries to put me on the nearby highway in between, regardless of the extra distance or how bad the highway traffic is at that time. Did something change substantially in Waze or its algorithm? 🤔

Newbie question re 2025 CrossTrek

Could anyone please offer me a bit of advice? I’m planning to take my CPO 2025 CrossTrek Sport trim to an automated car wash for the first time. Is there some setting etc. that I should enable/disable/change before I take it to a car wash? Is there something else that I should know or remember? Thank you in advance for any advice.
