Cut way back in January, been going strong ever since.

Just turned 30 yesterday after a very all over the place relationship with alcohol over the course of my 20s. Around 28, I’d gotten to where I’d been working towards in my career and decided when I’d started that job I wanted to hard reset my alcohol intake, I went from drinking heavily 2-3 nights a week to a hard rule of once a week. When I’d did that, I’d also cut out a lot of the bad things I’d do while drunk(driving, cocaine, drinking at home after the bar, and having more than 4 or 5 drinks, and we also stopped drinking at night time. I’d get off at 1pm and we’d usually be done drinking by 3 or so). I’d really really really enjoyed that change. To the point of I’d felt like I’d cracked the code for my relationship with alcohol for the rest of my life. Fast forward to January of this past year and I’d wanted to try Dry January due to the fact that even though I’d been significantly better behaved, I was waking up with crippling anxiety still on Sundays, that turned into now only drinking once or twice a month(unless traveling lololol), and man I’ve actually never felt better the entirety of my 20s. It might not be a drastic change, but I’m hearing about the weight loss on a weekly basis. And my tolerance is so low, we’re getting blasted on 3 rounds.

I have a huge love of marijuana, so that helped a lot given how popular and readily available THC sodas are at bars in my city.

Anyways thank you to this subreddit for making me feel less alone in that gray area of knowing I needed a change but also knowing that laughing at a bar with my husband and friends wasn’t something I’d ever want to go fully without.

Homophobia at Nu-Way

For context I’m from Spartanburg and well aware of the culture. However, Came here with my mom and husband, was met with REALLY intense homophobic slurs after ordering a drink. I worked in dive bars(bartending and barbacking in west avl, which obviously I know is different world away, however it’s 2026), I couldn’t tell if it was supposed to be edgy humor or the person behind the bar was having some sort of schizophrenic episode. It was a lot though, to the point of being extremely off putting, and I could see it was making the other people working pretty uncomfortable. This was bad, and unfortunately I’m gonna have to make sure a lot more people hear about it.

Prefer them to fit a little tighter.

I’m not new to Birkenstocks, but I am new to the subreddit. I’d owned 2 pairs of the rubber Arizonas in the past 10 years(loved them but also had nothing to compare them too) and recently got into the leather Arizonas(obsessed), I find them most comfortable pretty tight to the foot(as in the last hole), I’m wondering the negative to this? Am I gonna damage the shoe by it fitting that snug ? Or is it more about potential blisters. I see comments on here saying they should fit a bit more loose, just trying to understand.

Thanks!

Curiosity finally got to me.

I collect almost exclusively in box, and I’d only opened a few over the years to adjust hair/fix imperfections, followed by reglueing the box back together. However tonight, I impulsively decided to let this Kraft Barbie see the light of day after almost 35 years in the dark.

Local Pokémon Tcg community ??

Obviously Pokémon cards are pretty popular rn and it’s easy to find card stores selling/local card convention events, but is anyone aware of any leagues or like spots in town that have a designated Tcg night ? Feels like most of the card shops in town are doing Magic or Yugioh events, but I’m having trouble finding a community of people actually playing the Tcg.

I’d been approached before about setting up a league at a bar, and it’s something I’d do if there wasn’t an option requiring less commitment on my end.

Got a 90s doll for the first time in forever!

My collection started as exclusively 90s dolls, but over the years has expanded over the years. Was cool to buy something different. 😎

New edition to the arsenal.

My collection has changed so much over the years, I’m super into Gold Label(not bfmc) stuff these days.

Haven’t gotten many cats over the years tbh, I know I’ve seen Raymond a time or 2 and seen tangy Atleast 5 times. Finally finally finally got Bob.
