There was a time (last year, haha) when Momo Ayase was kicking everyone's butt and was the main source of leadership in fights. What happened to her? Tatsu took away her powers, and not only that, but he didn't give her any substitute powers either (I'm not counting the Ogre Club because that's Okarun's power), turning her into a practically useless character who's already had to be saved three times. Three times in just twenty chapters, half of which she doesn't even appear in. Everyone expects Okarun to get a power boost and save her, but that would only hurt her character even more. The best thing that could happen is for her to defend Okarun and defeat Hase, her aggressor . Now that would be a true subversion of expectations.

Because what better way to build character than by being a punching bag?

The fact that Hase disgusts you so much only demonstrates how incredibly well-written he is by Tatsu; if he were a flat cliché or a simple envious thug, he would be incredibly boring. Think about the Kurs; they killed many people. Does anyone feel hatred towards them? Think about Vlad. Does anyone care about his motivations and hate him? The answer is no. The greatest crime in writing isn't creating characters that are hated, but characters that leave the reader indifferent. Hase obviously doesn't deserve redemption, but he has the potential to be the best villain in Dandadan, and he will eventually get what's coming to him from Okarun/Momo and the others, and that will be the reward for the reader.

This manga reached its peak around chapter 166 and deserves to be remembered for that period (1-166). The rest is fanfiction.

There are 3 interesting plot points for tomorrow

1). Aira and Mal de Ojo's fight against Godzilla&John Marshall: how will they manage to defeat him?

2). Finally, Hase will reunite with Momo and Okarun. How will Momo react when she finds out that Hase bullied Okarun? And how will Hase react when he sees Okarun with a girl? It will be interesting to see

3). Kinta and Vamola were mentioned in chapter 243, so they might appear soon. I want to see what they can contribute.
